MONDAY DAILY REPORT

YESTERDAY, 41 WAS THE HIGH.
TODAY AGAIN, 41 WAS THE HIGH, WITH MORE SUNSHINE.
CLOUDY TONIGHT WITH LOW OF 27.
TOMORROW, MOSTLY CLOUDY AND HIGH OF 45.
NO SNOW OR RAIN FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK AND
TEMPS A LITTLE HIGHER THAN USUAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR.

LAST FRIDAY WAS A VERY WINDY DAY, WITH OVER A DOZEN SEMIS REPORTED BLOWN OVER INCLUDING ONE  JUST NORTH OF MAQUOKETA
ON HIGHWAY 61.



IN SPORTS:
TONIGHT IN TOURNAMENT BASKETBALL HERE IN MAQUOKETA, THE
MAQUOKETA CARDINAL BOYS HOST DAVENPORT ASSUMPTION IN A 6:30
BALL GAME.   LEIGHTON HEPKER HAS THE GAME TONIGHT ON KMAQ AM, FM AND OUR WEB SITE HOME PAGE, STARTING AT 6:15.    ASSUMPTION
HAS WON ONLY 4 GAMES THIS YEAR, BUT THEY PLAY LARGER SCHOOLS
IN 5-A.   MAQUOKETA IS IN 4-A.   SHOULD BE A GOOD GAME.

THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH HAS SELECTED JACKSON COUNTY TO PARTICIPATE IN AN $8.1 MILLION FEDERAL GRANT TO REDUCE  YOUTH BINGE DRINKING AND UNDERAGE ALCOHOL USE AND THE
PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH BOTH.     JACKSON IS ONE OF 12 IOWA COUNTIES IDENTIFIED AS "HIGHEST NEED" IN REGARDS TO UNDERAGE
ALCOHOL USE AND YOUTH BINGE  DRINKING.

MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD MEETING AND CITY COUNCIL MEETING
TONIGHT.

"CABARET" SHOW AT OHNWARD IS THIS WEEKEND.

FORMER STATE SENATOR AND ORLA OWNED DAVIS
