THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS LOST THEIR OPENING BASKETBALL GAME OF THE SEASON, AT CEDAR RAPIDS LAST NIGHT.
THEY HAVE 2 MORE GAMES THIS WEEK. THE BOYS HAVE THEIR FIRST GAME NEXT WEEK.

WENT TO THE SNEAK PREVIEW OF THE NEW GASSER'S TRUE VALUE HARDWARE LAST NIGHT. BIG TURNOUT. BIG STORE.
20,000 SQUARE FEET AND IT IS ALSO BRIGHTLY LIGHTED AND A BEAUTIFUL STORE. IT OPENS FOR BUSINESS FRIDAY.
THE OWNER AND HIS WIFE ARE FROM WISCONSIN AND THEY HAVE TWO SONS IN THE BUSINESS WITH THEM AND ONE SON IS IN CHARGE OF THIS STORE AND THE LANCASTER STORE.
THEY HAVE I BELIEVE 6 STORES. STORE IS LOCATED SOUTH OF THE FLAPJACK RESTAURANT, ACROSS WEST PLATT STREET IN AN AREA THAT WAS AS CATTLE GRAZING FIELD A COUPLE YEARS OR SO AGO.

THE HOSPITAL BOARD MET YESTERDAY AND BOUGHT 3 EQUIPMENT ITEMS TOTALING JUST OVER $10,000.
IT WAS ANNOUNCED THAT THE NEW SKILLED NURSING UNIT WILL BE FINISHED DECEMBER 9TH AND PATIENTS WILL BE MOVED FROM THE OLD UNIT INTO THE NEW THAT DAY.
