IT'S BELIEVED SHE SHE PURCHASED THE WINNING TICKET FROM HER GRANDSON MICHAEL TABOR, WHO IS A MEMBER OF THE LOCAL FFA CHAPER. AND...I HEAR THIS RAFFLE FOR THE FFA WAS A SUCCESS...MADE THEM SOME MONEY. THE FFA ANNUAL BANQUET IS COMING UP ON APRIL 22ND.
SCHOOL BOARD NEWS: THE BOARD HAS ACCEPTED THE LOW BID ON ASBESTOS ABATEMENT AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. ASBESTOS WAS FOUND IN THE CAFETERIA AND THE LOW BID TO GET RID OF IT WAS $17,300.
THE BOARD ALSO APPROVED A NEW CONTRACT WITH BUS DRIVER. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST YEAR THE BUS DRIVERS WILL BE COVERED BY THE SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION. THE CONTRAT CALLS FOR HOURLY RATES BETWEEN $13.50 AND $16.50 AN HOUR FOR DRIVERS HIRED BEFORE JUNE 30, 2006. AFTER THAT DATE, FIRST YEAR DRIVERS WILL MAKE $15.00 AN HOUR. AND IN YEARS, 6-7, THE RATE WILL BE $16.50 PER HOUR.
