AFTER ABOUT 14 INCHES ... THE SNOW STOPPED AROUND 3:30 THIS AFTERNOON
AND THE SUN CAME OUT AROUND 4. THANK GOODNESS!
THE STORM IS OVER!
BUT..WITH LOTS OF SNOW ON THE GROUND FROM TODAY AND EARLIER IN WEEK,
ROADS ARE IN BAD SHAPE....LOTS OF PLOWING TO DO....AND BLOWING SNOW.....
SO....NO SCHOOL TOMORROW (THURSDAY) FOR MAQUOKETA SCHOOL DISTRICT, SACRED HEART IN MAQUOKETA, DELWOOD, AND ANDREW. ALSO CENTRAL DEWITT HAS ALREADY CALLED IN TO SAY NO SCHOOL TOMORROW. AND THERE WILL BE OTHERS.
MARGARET WILBURN, AGE 64, OF MAQUOKETA, DIED THIS MORNING AT A HOSPITAL IN DAVENPORT. SERVICES ARE PENDING AT CARSON AND SON.
THE MAQUOKETA WRESTLERS WILL TRY AGAIN TOMORROW NIGHT TO WRESTLER WILLIAMSBURG .. AT 6 P.M...IN THE REGIONAL TEAM DUAL COMPETITION, AT MONTICELLO.
AT THE SAME TIME, WEST DELAWARE WILL TAKE ON WEST LIBERTY AND THE TWO WINNERS THEN WRESTLE AND THE WINNER GOES TO THE STATE DUAL TEAM TOURNAMENT IN CEDAR RAPIDS LATER IN MONTH.
ALSO TOMORROW NIGHT, THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS PLAY WESTERN DUBUQUE IN MAKE-UP PLAY AT THE MCHS GYM IN MAQUOKETA. IT WILL BE SENIOR NIGHT AND PARENTS NIGHT.

IT SNOWED LAST NIGHT... IT HAS BEEN SNOWING ALL MORNINGL...IT IS NOON AND IT IS STILL SNOWING. ABOUT 12 INCHES SO FAR. MAQUOKETA AND AREA IS SHUT DOWN. WE HAVE HAD HUNDREDS OF CLOSINGS AND CANCELLATIONS. HIGHWAY 61 NORTH IS OPEN, BUT ABOUT 20 SEMI'S IN THE DITCH AND TRAVEL NOT ADVISED
ANYWHERE IN AREA. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO END THIS AFTERNOON LATE.
LITTLE OR NO SNOW IN FORECAST FOR TONIGHT, AND TOMORROW OR FRIDAY.
