IT GOT WARMER THAN WE EXPECTED TODAY...WITH LOTS OF SUNSHINE AND LOTS OF WIND, WE GOT UP TO 59.

IOWA LT. GOV. SALLY PEDERSON WAS IN MAQUOKETA THIS AFTERNOON TO ANNOUNCE A $500,000
STATE LOAN FOR THE MAJOR PROJECT OF CONVERTING THE OLD HISTORIC HURT HOTEL INTO 22 MODERN SENIOR APARTMENTS. CHRIS ALES OF BETTENDORF WILL START THE PROJECT THIS YEAR AND START RENTING THE APARTMENTS ABOUT THIS TIME NEXT YEAR. HE ALSO BUILDT THE APARTMENTS THAT OPENED SEVERAL YEARS AGO IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA, ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE MAQUOKETA CITY HALL. TOURS OF THE OLD BUILDING WERE GIVEN TODAY, AND NEWS DIRECTOR SHERRI MELVOLD SAID THE INTERERIOR IS IN PRETTY BAD SHAPE, TO SEE THE LEAST.

EDWARD AND BRENDA BEIDLER OF RURAL MAQUOKETA ARE PARENTS OF A BOY, BORN SUNDAY NIGHT AT THE LOCAL HOSPITAL. GRANDPARENTS ARE ED AND MARGARET BEIDLER OF RURAL MAQUOKETA.
MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS ARE HARRY AND RUTH HUEBBE OF RURAL BALDWIN.

THANKS FOR CHECKING IN.
