MONDAY DAILY

THE 12TH ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF TREES ENDED AT 6  LAST NIGHT AT OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER ON EAST PLATT IN MAQUOKETA.    SATURDAY
NIGHT, MANY PEOPLE GOT TO SEE THEM AS THERE WAS A VERY BIG
CROWD AT THE BRANSON SHOW AT OHNWARD.      SATURDAY NIGHT
AT INTERMISSION TIME, THE DRAWING WAS HELD FOR OHNWARD'S
$1,000 SHOPPING SPREE RAFFLE.   THE WINNER WAS JAKE BICKFORD OF
MAQUOKETA.     JAKE, NOW  RETIRED AFTER MANY YEARS OF OWNING
BILL MOLER'S MENS WEAR, PURCHASED THE TICKET (ALSO ONE FOR WIFE
JUDY) EARLIER IN THE EVENING.

I WAS ENJOYING LOOKING AT THE TREES SATURDAY AFTERNOON UNTIL
I CAME UPON THE "CUBS" TREE.

WE ADDED A TREE TO THE KMAQ WINDOW...LOOKS BETTER.

CHERYL AND DR. CRAIG LIVED IN MAQUOKETA MANY YEARS AGO AND HAVE LIVED IN DUBUQUE A LONG TIME.    CRAIG IS RETIRED.

ANOTHER OLD PHOTO!   REMEMBER THE ABOVE TREE THAT WAS USED FOR MANY YEARS AT THE CORNER OF MAIN AND PLATT?    IT REALLY LOOKED GREAT AT THE CORNER.      IT JUST GOT TOO OLD TO PUT UP.    THERE WERE
LIGHT POLE TREES TOO...SEE AT RIGHT EDGE OF PHOTO.   THAT WAS IN 1971.    AS MAYOR, I HAD A FUND DRIVE TO BUY NEW DECORATIONS.   THAT IS HAMILTON'S WOMENS WEAR ON THE CORNER WHERE "MAKE A SPLASH" IS NOW.

IT RAIN A LOT YESTERDAY AND ALMOST ALL DAY TODAY.    AROUND 50
TODAY...AND MAYBE 50 AGAIN TOMORROW...BUT THEN...COLD WEATHER
IS FORECAST.    IN THE 40'S WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY AND  FRIDAY THE
HIGH WILL BE 37.    NO SNOW YET AND NONE IN FORECAST AT THIS TIME.
