A 1976 TWIN ENGINE PLANE WAS BEING FILLED WITH FUEL WHEN THE PLANE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE. ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF AL MUHLHAUSEN WAS DRIVING PAST THE AIRPORT TOWARD MAQUOKETA WHEN THE CALL CAME....SO HE DROVE IN AND PUT THE FIRE OUT WITH AN EXTINGUISHER BEFORE FIRE TRUCKS ARRIVED. FIREMEN DID COOL OFF THE HOT SPOTS ON THE ENGINE WHEN THEY ARRIVED.

FRIDAY NIGHT, THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS OPENED WAMAC CONFERENCE PLAY WITH A ROAD WIN OVER GILBERTSVILLE DON BOSCO, 84 TO 29. BROOKE DAVIS SCORED 19 POINTS FOR THE CARDINALS. THEY PLAY AT MANCHESTER TOMORROW NIGHT.
THE MAQUOKETA BOYS HOST WEST DELAWARE OF MANCHESTER TOMORROW NIGHT AT THE MAQUOKETA GYM.
