COOL THIS MORNING... UPPER 40'S...BUT IT WARMED UP TODAY TO 67.
WEEKEND WILL BE NICE.

THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ACCEPTED THE LOW BID
FOR GAS AND DIESEL FUEL FROM RIVER VALLEY ENERGY IN BELLEVUE.
THE BID LETTING HAD BEEN POSTPONED FROM THE PREVIOUS WEEK TO ALLOW ENGINEER CLARK SCHLOZ TO LOOK INTO USING BIODIESEL FUEL.
SCHLOZ SAID HE CHECKED WITH 14 COUNTIES.   SIX DID NOT USE BIODIESEL.
FIVE ARE USING IT.   THREE WERE USING IT AND HAVE RETURNED TO REGULAR DIESEL.      THE LOW BID FOR BIODIESEL FUEL WAS $451,850.
THE LOW BID FROM RIVER VALLEY FOR DIESEL AND GAS WAS $452,395.

TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY IS FREE FISHING WEEKEND IN IOWA.
ANYONE CAN FISH WITHOUT A FISHING LICENSE.

THE ANNUAL BIG MAQUOKETA FIRE DEPARTMENT BREAKFAST IS
SUNDAY AT THE FIRE STATION, FROM 7 A.M. UNTIL 12 NOON.
PANCAKES AND MORE...$6 AND KIDS $4

HAPPY JUNE 1ST....HAVE SOME MILK THIS WEEKEND....IT IS
JUNE DAIRY MONTH.
