CARDINAL WRESTLING SQUAD LOST TO WEST DELAWARE, 52 TO 23. NOT BAD, CONSIDERING THE MANCHESTER PROGRAM IS
ONE OF THE BEST. TODAY, THE CARDINAL GRAPPLERS ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE SABER INVITATIONAL AT DEWITT.
IN BASKETBALL, LAST NIGHT: THE IOWA HAWKEYES LOST TO DRAKE BY 6 POINTS. FIRST WIN AT IOWA CITY BY DRAKE IN 40 YEARS. DRAKE'S NEW COACH IS KENO DAVIS, SON OF DR. TOM DAVIS, FORMER GREAT HAWKEYE COACH. LAST NIGHT AND LOST, 53 TO 45.
THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD IS BEING ASKED TO LOOK AT A SCHOOL CALENDAR NEXT YEAR WHICH WOULD MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE FIRST SEMESTER END BEFORE CHRISTMAS. AND TO DO THIS, THE SCHOOL YEAR MIGHT HAVE TO START AS EARLY AS AUGUST 11TH. NOTHING DEFINITE, JUST IN DISCUSSION STAGE.

AGAIN THIS YEAR, ONE OF THE BEST CHRISTMAS DISPLAYS IS JUST EAST OF MAQUOKETA ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF HIGHWAY 64. IT IS HUGE. THE PHOTO HERE IS OF THE ENTRANCE TO
IT. IT IS PUT UP ANNUALLY BY PAUL AND DIANNE BRADY.
