A MAQUOKETA CITY PLOW BACKED INTO A VEHICLE THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
ETHAN KILBURG, 16, OF MAQUOKETA WAS STOPPED BECAUSE OF THE SNOW REMOVAL AT 1:40 YESTERDAY AFTERNOON ON NORTH SECOND STREET. JOHN IRWIN, AGE 61, OF MAQUOKETA, WAS DRIVING A CITY TRUCK IN FRONT OF HIM AND BACKED INTO THE KILBURG VEHICLE. ABOUT $1,000 DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES. NO INJURIES. CHARGES ARE PENDING AGAINST IRWIN.

SMILES ON MAIN WILL BE BACK OPEN FOR BUSINESS MONDAY. MICHELLE ATIENZA SAID THAT THEY WILL BE BACK IN THE DENTIST OFFICE, JUST NORTH OF THE BURNED OUT BUILDINGS, AT FULL STRENGTH MONDAY. ONLY THE FRONT MAIN STREET DOOR CAN BE USED. THE TENANTS OF THE BUILDING WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN FOR ABOUT A YEAR AS THAT SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING RECEIVED MAJOR DAMAGE.

TALK AGRICULTURE AND CLOWN AROUND WITH SHERI MELVOLD, HOST OF THE SHOW. LAST NIGHT, THEY SANG AT THE FARM AND HOME SHOW. IN THE BACK, LEFT TO RIGHT, IN YELLOW SHIRT, MARK MILLER WHO ALSO HAS THE POPULAR ROCK BAND,"JAMMER".....IN MIDDLE, LESTER JOHNSON, CORNELIUS SEED CORN COMPANY ...AND AT RIGHT....JOE HEINRICH, FARMER AND FARM BUREAU DISTRICT BOARD MEMBER. MUCH BETTER FARMERS THAN SINGERS! SHARING THE STAGE WITH THE THREE NOT-SO-HANDSOME SINGERS, MISSY GERLACH ON LEFT AND AMY
HEINRICH ON RIGHT. I'M NOT SURE WHAT THEY, AND KIDDIE TRACTORS, HAD

DONATIONS FOR THE VARIOUS ARTISTS WERE ASKED FOR IN FISH BOWLS IN FRONT OF THE STAGE. JUST OVER $600 WAS RAISED AND IT WILL BE SPLIT BETWEEN THE MAQUOKETA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT AND HOSPICE OF JACKSON COUNTY.
