WITH HER RV AND 2 OR 3 DOGS, IS BACK IN TOWN FOR AWHILE. SHE'S IN HER MID 80'S AND KEEPS ON-THE-GO. LIKES TO STOP AT A CASINO NOW AND THEN. TROY WAS THE YOUNGEST OF 12 KIDS. A BROTHER TOM ALSO LIVES IN MAQUOKETA AND WITH WIFE, OWNS AND OPERATES THE SWEET THINGS BAKERY.

SATURDAY NIGHT AT MICHEL'S HALL. 36 MEMBERS. OFFICERS ARE:
TOM DEVINE, PRESIDENT.....DENNIS GILSON, VICE PRESIDENT....TOM STEWART,
SECRETARY....STEVEN FOWLER, TREASURER. THE LIONS CLUBS IN DELMAR
AND LOW MOR GOT THE NEW CLUB STARTED. GUEST SPEAKER SATURDAY NIGHT WAS PAST INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR FROM WASHINGTON, IOWA, DAVE STOUFER.
THE CHARTER WAS PRESENTED BY THE DISTRICT GOVERNOR, CONNIE INMAN OF MECHANICSVILLE. THERE WERE GUESTS FROM ABOUT A DOZEN LIONS CLUBS IN THE AREA AND MANY BROUGHT A GIFT. THE CLUB HAS ALREADY HAD ONE
SUCCESSFUL FUND RAISER, SELLING FOOD AT THE BEIDLER'S FARM EQUIPMENT CLOSE-OUT SALE AND ITS FIRST COMMUNITY GOOD DEED WAS TO AGREE TO SPONSOR A LITLE LEAGUE TEAM IN MAQUOKETA. THE CLUB MEETS TWICE MONTHLY AT THE NEW YMCA. THERE WAS A LONGTIME LIONS CLUB IN THE
PAST, BUT IT CEASED MEETING AROUND 10 YEARS AGO.
