TWO DOZEN DOGS DISPLACED FROM THEIR OWNERS DURING HURRICANE SANDY ARRIVED AT THE JACKSON COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY THIS WEEKEND. SOCIETY PRESIDENT SHIRLEY SHOLTES OF BELLEVUE SAID THEY HAD THE ROOM TO HANDLE THE VARIETY OF DOGS. SOME OF THE DOGS CAME FROM OVERCROWDED EAST COAST SHELTERS WHERE THEY WERE ABOUT TO BE EUTHENIZED. THE DOGS WERE DRIVEN TO MAQUOKETA BY VOLUNTEERS AT THE MIAMI DADE ANIMAL SERVICES IN
FLORIDA. THERE ARE SEVERAL CHIHUAHUAS, A DOBERMAN-PINCHER PUP,
BLACK YELLOW AND BRINDLE LABS, SEVERAL TERRIERS, AN AUSTRALIAN KELPIE AND A KOREAN JINDO. THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT THE
