THE FRIDAY-SUNDAY FORECAST STILL LOOKING PRETTY GOOD WITH
SUNSHINE AND 50 PLUS TEMPS.

CEDAR RAPIDS A WEEK FROM TONIGHT. MAQUOKETA HAS NEVER GONE TO STATE
IN VOLLEYBALL! GO CARDINALS. I'LL HAVE THE RESULTS UP HERE LATER
TONIGHT OR TOMORROW MORNING EARLY.

LAST NIGHT, TWO MAQUOKETA STUDENTS WERE EXPELLED FOR THE REST OF THE SEMETER BY THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD. THE STUDENTS WERE EXPELLED FOLLOWING CLOSED HEARINGS BETWEEN THE BOARD AND THEIR PARENTS.
BECAUSE OF PRIVACY ISSUES, NO NAMES OR DETAILS WERE ANNOUNCED.

UNEMPLOYEMENT RATES IN THE AREA WENT DOWN IN SEPTEMBER, COMPARED TO
AUGUST FIGURES. IN IOWA, THE STATE RATE WENT DOWN FROM 6.1 TO 6 PERCENT.
IN JACKSON COUNTY, THE RATE DROPPED TO 6 PERCENT FROM 6.8 IN AUGUST.

TWO MORE DEER ACCIDENTS REPORTED, BY JUSTIN FELLER AND DANIEL TRENTON.
BOTH HAPPENED YESTERDAY.

BUDDY AND MYRNA OLSON CELEBRATE THEIR 54TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TODAY.
BUDDY SAID IT WAS ALSO RAINING IN MAQUOKETA 54 YEARS AGO TODAY WHEN
PASTOR KUMPF MARRIED THEM AT THE LUTHERAN CHURCH. BUDDY IS AGAIN THIS YEAR SPONSORING A VETERAN'S DAY THANK-YOU PROGRAM NOVEMBER 11TH IN THE
AFTERNOON AT THE FAIRGROUNDS. HE WAS ON "JUST TALK" THIS MORNING TO
TALK ABOUT THIS 2ND ANNUAL EVENT. I'LL HAVE MORE ON IT LATER.
BUDDY WAS MY POLICE CHIEF WHEN I WAS MAYOR IN 1970 AND 1971. IN THOSE
DAYS, THE CHIEF WAS APPOINTED BY THE MAYOR. BUDDY AND I GOT A LOT OF
HELP THOSE DAYS FROM OUR FRIEND, THE LATE EMIL MARCUCCI.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS THIS SATURDAY. SATURDAY, WHEN YOU GO TO
BED...SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK ONE HOUR. AN EXTRA HOUR TO DO SOMETHING WITH.
USE IT WISELY.
