NO RAIN THE LAST COUPLE DAYS...THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, A LITTLE COOLER WEATHER BUT NOW AND FOR THE NEXT 5 DAYS, NO RAIN FORECAST AND HIGHS EACH DAY AROUND 90.

BUSY WEEK, ONLY A COUPLE OF THESE REPORTS. STATION MANAGER LEIGHTON HEPKER WAS ON VACATION....WE HAD THE DEWITT GIRLS AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT AND KMAQ HOSTED THE CONCERT THURSDAY NIGHT.

BY THE WAY, THE CONCERT BY THE CELEBRATION IOWA SINGERS AND DANCERS AND JAZZ BAND WAS A HUGE SUCCESS. THE BUSLOAD ARRIVED THURSDAY AFTERNOON AT 1 AND WENT RIGHT TO THE NEW ONWARD FINE ARTS CENTER TO REHERESE. THEN KMAQ TREATED THEM TO AN EVENING DINNER AT THE HURSTVILLE INTERPRETIVE CENTER. A GREAT MEAL PREPARED BY THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF THE EAGLES LADIES AUXILIARY. THEN THE SHOW STARTED AT 7:15. ITS WAS A FANTASTIC SHOW PUT ON BY THE 36 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM AROUND THE STATE, THE CREAM OF THE CROP SO TO SPEAK. THEY RECEIVED A COUPLE STANDING OVATIONS AT THE END OF THE 2 AND A HALF HOUR SHOW ATTENDED BY AROUND 650 PEOPLE. THEN THEY STAYED OVERNIGHT AT SOME 20 HOST HOMES IN AROUND MAQUOKETA AND LEFT FRIDAY MORNING AFTER BREAKFAST....ON TO ANOTHER TOWN TO DO THE SHOW AGAIN. WE HAVE HAD MANY MANY GOOD COMMENTS AND MAY TRY TO HAVE THEM COME BACK TO MAQUOEKTA AGAIN NEXT YEAR.
