CLOSE GAME THE FIRST HALF.

IN WRESTLING TODAY, AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT, MAQUOKETA'S TIM O'CONNELL LOST HIS OPENING MATCH AND THEN CAME BACK IN THE CONSOLATION ROUND WITH A PIN AND WILL WRESTLE AGAIN TOMORROW MORNING.
RYAN FLAGEL OF MAQUOKETA LOST HIS OPENING MATCH IN OVERTIME AND THEN LOST HIS CONSOLATION MATCH AND IS NOW OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT.
CARDINAL THOMAS MAYBERRY WON HIS OPENING MATCH 13 TO 2 AND MOVES IN QUARTER-FINAL ACTION TOMORROW.
AND LARRY EGGERS OF MAQUOKETA WON HIS FIRST MATCH 16 TO 4 AND
WRESTLES IN THE QUARTR-FINALS TOMORROW.
DEWITT'S TWO WRESTLERS BOTH LOST OPENING MATCHES AND WON CONSOLATION MATCHES THIS MORNIGN, ALSO IN 2-A.
THE NORTHEAST WRESTLER WON HIS OPENING MATCH AND THE NORTH CEDAR
WRESTLER LOST BOTH MATCHES AND IS OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT.
DR. PAUL KOOB COVERED ALL 8 WRESTLERS THIS MORNING ON KMAQ....HE WAS BUSY AND AS ALWAYS, DONE A GREAT JOB. HE WILL BE BACK ON THE AIR JUST

RED HENTON WAS IN A MINOR ACCIDENT LAST FRIDAY NIGHT IN CLINTON COUNTY.
IN THE SNOW AND SLUSH COVERED ROAD, HIS VEHICLE SLID INTO THE DITCH AND HIT A .... MAILBOX. RED...YOU KNOW...IS A RETIRED RURAL MAILCARRIER.
HE DID NOT GET HURT...AND DAMAGE WAS $800 TO HIS VAN.

RAY HARTMANN, AGE 91, DIED MONDAY AT CRESTRIDGE IN MAQUOKETA.
HE WAS A CLINTON COUNTY FARMER. AFTER RETIRMEMENT, HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE MAQUOKETA ROTARY CLUB. HIS IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE AND TWO
SONS.

LLOYD SHAFER, AGE 66, OF MARION AND FORMELRY OF MAQUOKETA DIED WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT ST. LUKE'S IN CEDAR RAPIDS. HE WAS A LONGTIME TEACHER AND COACH FOR MARION HIGH SCHOOL. SURVIVORS INCLUDE HIS WIFE, MARTHA, TWO SONS AND GRANDCHILDREN. HIS PARENTS WERE BUD AND BETTY SHAFER
OF MAQUOKETA.
