RAINY TODAY, HIGH OF 36....THE WARM WEATHER CONTINUES AND WILL UNTIL AT LEAST THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. NO SUNSHINE. NOT VERY NICE, EXCEPT NICE FOR FUEL BILLS, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THE COLD WEATHER EARLIER THIS MONTH.

TAMMY MANG, OF NORTH OLIVE IN MAQUOKETA, REPORTED HER CAR STOLEN CHRISTMAS DAY.
YESTERDAY, IT WAS RECOVERED SITTING ON THE STREET IN HEARTLAND TRAILER COURT.

THE MAQUOKETA HIGH CLASSES OF 1985 AND 1986 ARE HAVING A JOINT 20-YEAR CLASS RE-UNION NEW YEAR'S EVE IN MAQUOKETA. INTERESTING IDEA.

THE MAQUOKETA RESCUE SQUAD HAS A NEW TRUCK. IT IS LARGER AND CARRIES MORE PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT. PERSONNEL NO LONGER CAN RIDE IN THE BACK AND MUST WEAR SEAT BELTS. THE TRUCK IS A DIFFERENT DESIGN AND LOOKS MORE LIKE A BIG-BOX STYLE.
IT COST $247,000 AND A 10-YEAR $125,000 LOAN WILL BE PAID OFF IN 10 YEARS. THE OLD RESCUE TRUCK WAS SOLD FOR $71,000 TO GO TOWARD THE NEW ONE, PLUS ALLIANCE PIPLINE GAVE $20,000 AND THE MAQUOKETA AREA FOUNDATION $10,000.

JERRY ROLLINGER, AGE 65, A MCHS 1959 GRAD AND A LONGTIME RESIDENT OF ANAMOSA, DIED AFTER A SUDDEN HEART ATTACK. HIS FUNERAL WILL BE NEXT TUESDAY IN ANAMOSA. TODAY'S SHOW IS UP NOW. MAYBE SOMEDAY, JON WILL DO A GUEST BOOK ENTRY AND TELL US MORE ABOUT HIS LIFE SINCE LEAVING MAQUOKETA. THAT IS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS WE HAVE THE GUEST BOOK.
