OVER 100 ENJOYED THANKSGIVING DINNER YESTERDAY AT THE SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER IN MAQUOKETA....MAQUOKETA'S ANNUAL COMMUNITY DINNER.

"THE LOFT" RESTAURANT AND BAR IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA HAS BEEN SOLD BY OWNER JUDY BOWLING, WHO HAS RUN IT FOR 25 YEARS. SHE WILL RETIRE. NEW OWNERS ARE SHERRY AND RANDY HICKS OF DELMAR. MRS. HICKS WILL BE INVOLVED THE MOST AS MR. HICKS HAS A FULLTIME JOB IN THE QUAD CITIES. THE POPULAR PLACE IS UPSTAIRS....AND HAD AS ITS SLOGAN..."A SHORT CLIMB TO A GREAT TIME".

LAURIE STERBENZ AT 302 N. 5TH STREET REPORTED TO POLICE THAT SOMEONE TOOK A 7-FOOT LIGHTED CHRISTMAS TREE FROM HER YARD.

NO BIRTHS AND NO DEATHS.
