RANDALL REPORTED THAT THIS AMOUNT OF CLEANUP HAS BEEN DONE: IN THE LAST YEAR, HE HAS REMOVED MORE THAN 65 AUTOS....40 LOADS OF METALS....350 TIRES AND RIMS....20 LOADS OF APPLIANCES AND MORE THAN 20 LOADS TO THE LANDFILL. THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY IS HAVING A FREE PROGRAM AT 1 TOMORROW AFTERNOON AT THE MUSEUM ON THE FAIRGROUNDS IN MAQUOKETA ON THE MAQUOKETA JUNIOR COLLEGE WHICH WAS IN FORCE FROM 1927-1943. IT WAS A FULLY ACCREDITED COLLEGE IN THE SAME BUILDING AS THE HIGH SCHOOL IN THOSE DAYS, THE BUILDING NOW USED AS THE MIDDLE SCHOOL. IT ALSO HAD EXTRA CURRICULUM ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING SPORTS. IT CLOSED IN MAY OF 1943 BECAUSE OF A LACK OF ENROLLMENT BROUGHT ABOUT BY WORLD WAR II.
