79 today...need I say more...

A Preston woman died yesterday afternoon around 1:30 after she was ejected from her vehicle in a near head-on
crash near Preston. Dead is Donna Whitmore, age 52. The other driver, Sheryl Werden of Maquoketa, was taken to the hospital here in town. Both were alone in their vehicle and neither was wearing a seat belt. The State Trooper said Werden was driving East on highway 64 three miles West of Preston, her car crossed the centerline and hit the Whitmore car nearly head on. Both cars were a total loss.

A Maquoeketa woman, Jessica Bowden, reported her vehicle was vandalized over the weekend on North Niagara Street.

Several grass fires over the weekend kept firemen busy. Maquoketa firemen were called to the Keith Kleis farm for a cornfield fire.
