THE NEW ADDITION TO CARDINAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COULD BE OPEN IN ABOUT 10 DAYS.

THE FUNERAL SERVICE FOR THELMA GISEL, AGE 86, FORMERLY OF MAQUOKETA WILL BE THIS MONDAY.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND, HOWARD, OF SAVANNAH, GEORGIA, AND A DAUGHTER, CONNIE O'DELL OF SAVANNAH.
HOWARD HAS A BROTHER IN ANDREW.

DEWITT DEFEATED MAQUOKTA 3 OUT OF 4 VOLLEYBALL MATCHES IN TOURNAMENT PLAY AND MAQUOKETA HAS NOW ENDED THE SEASON.

THIS YEAR'S BEEF BANQUET WILL BE SATURDAY NIGHT, NOVEMBER 8TH AT THE PEARSON CENTER ON THE FAIRGROUNDS.
ALWAYS A BIG EVENT.

THE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY HAS THEIR BIG FUND RAISER DINNER THIS SUNDAY AT THE FAIRGROUNDS.

THE FIRST CHRISTMAS EVENT IN MAQUOKETA IS THIS COMING MONDAY NIGHT AT THE JACKSON COUNTY HOME
FURNISHINGS STORE DOWNTOWN. NEARLY 20 MERCHANTS WILL HAVE A LITTLE CHRISTMAS DISPLAY IN THE STORE AND THERE WILL BE A STYLE SHOW TOO.

DEWITT, PRESTON AND NORTHEAST OF GOOSELAKE.....ALL THREE FOOTBALL TEAMS ...WILL BE IN THE FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS STARTING A WEEK FROM TONIGHT.
