TUESDAY DAILY REPORT

IN IOWA, HARRY HILLAKER, STATE CLIMATOLOGIST, REPORTED YESTERDAY THAT TEMPERATURES  BETWEEN OCTOBER 1 AND JAN 23 REPRESENT
THE NINTH COLDEST FOR THAT PERIOD IN THE PAST 121 YEARS.   THE AVERAGE STATEWIDE TEMPERATURE WAS 30.1 DEGREES OVER THE 115 DAYS, COMPARED WITH THE NORMAL 34.2 DEGREES.     AND, HE SAYS RECORDS SHOW ABOUT 2/3 RDS OF THE WINTERS THAT STARTED OUT COLDER THAN NORMAL FINISHED COLDER THAN NORMAL.    APPARENTLY
FEBRUARY AND MARCH WILL BE DISAPPOINTING TOO.    THE COLDEST DAY IN IOWA THIS WINTER, SO FAR, WAS 27 BELOW AT ADEL ON DECEMBER 24TH.

KMAQ'S GAS BILL FOR HEAT A YEAR AGO WAS $534 FOR THE MONTH.
THIS YEAR, IT IS UP TO $702.   
THE MONTH BEFORE, $196 LAST YEAR VERSUS $234 THIS YEAR.    
THAT'S $2O6 MORE THIS YEAR FOR JUST 2 MONTHS.

CLINTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE  ANNOUNCED TODAY THE  RECIPIENT OF THE 2013 CONNIE CAMPBELL MEMORIAL CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD.   THE
AWARD HONORS A COLLEGE EMPLOYEE WHOSE WORK REFLECTS THAT
CUSTOMER CARE THAT CONNIE CAMPBELL DEMONSTRATED DAILY.
SHE WAS EMPLOYED BY CLINTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE  AND DIED IN JUNE OF 2006.   ANTHONY BIELSKI IS THE RECEPIENT.      CCC PRESIDENT KAREN VICKERS COMMENTED THAT IT IS SUCH A WELL-DESERVED RECOGNITION
FOR ANTHONY.   THAT HE IS ALWAYS AMONG THE FIRST TO VOLUNTEER
FOR PROJECTS.   HE IS 38 YEARS OLD AND LIVES IN THE QUAD CITIES.
HE SPENDS MUCH OF HIS TIME AT THE COLLEGE CAMPUS NEXT TO THE
MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL.
DID YOU KNOW CORNELL COLLEGE IS THE ONLY  SCHOOL IN THE NATION TO HAVE ITS ENTIRE CAMPUS LISTED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF
HISTORIC PLACES?    MANY OF YOU WENT THERE.
