RANDAL SCOTT, AGE 44, OF MAQUOKETA, WAS TAKEN TO THE DEWITT HOSPITAL FOR MINOR INJURIES FOLLOWING AN ACCIDENT MONDAY AFTERNOON NEAR WELTON. HIS SEMI GOT OFF ONTO THE SHOULDER, HE OVER-CORRECTED AND THE TRUCK ROLLED ON ITS SIDE. $25,000 DAMAGE TO THE SEMI WOWNED BY PRESTON MEAT LOCKER.

A MAQUOKETA MAN, DAVID DANIEL, AGE 38, WAS ARRESTED YESTERDAY MORNING AFTER A TASK FORCE RAIDED AN UPSTAIRS APARTMENT AT 322 AND 1/2 SOUTH 2ND STREET AFTER REPORTS OF STRANGE ODORS AND REPORTS OF FREQUENT VISITORS WHO STAYED JUST A SHORT TIME.
HE WAS CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, METHAMPHETAMINE AND IS BEING HELD IN THE JACKSON COUNTY DETENTION CENTER ON A $13,000 CASH BOND. THREE OTHER PEOPLE REPORTEDLY HAVE BEEN STAHING AT THE APARTMENT, BUT NO CHARGES AGINST THEM AS OF THIS MORNING. ALSO FOUND IN THE APARTMENT, 15 FIREARMS AND DRUG PARAPHENALIA.

WILMA CURTIN, AGE 80, DIED TODAY AT HER HOME IN MAQUOKET. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND, JAMES, PLUS 2 DAUGHTERS AND 1 SON AND GRANDCHILDREN.
