TUESDAY DAILY REPORT

MORE RAIN TODAY.
2  INCHES AS OF 6 THIS MORNING.
PROBABLY ANOTHER INCH TODAY.
RAIN WILL END TOMORROW.
THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY LOOKING GOOD.  LOTS OF SUNSHINE.

DR. PAUL KOOB(RETIRED)OF MAQUOKETA,  IS THE NEW VARSITY WRESTLING COACH FOR MCHS.    HE WAS A GRAPPLER WHEN IN HIGH SCHOOL HERE
AND AT WARTBURG COLLEGE.    HE  HAS BEEN SERVING AS A VOLUNTEER
COACH THE LAST COUPLE YEARS AND HAS BEEN THE VOICE OF WRESTLING
ON KMAQ FOR MANY YEARS.   HE WILL BE PAID $4,355.   HOPEFULLY DOC
WILL BRING THE WRESTLING SPIRIT BACK TO COMMUNITY.

THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD GAVE THE GO-AHEAD TO SUPT. CHRIS
HOOVER TO EXPLORE OFFERING A POSSIBLE EARLY RETIREMENT PROGRAM TO DISTRICT EMPLOYEES THIS YEAR.    NO PACKAGE WAS OFFERED LAST
YEAR.
STUDENT NUMBERS WERE PRESENTED LAST NIGHT FOR THE DISTRICT.
ENROLLMENT WILL INCREASE BY ONLY ONE  STUDENT FROM LAST YEAR.
OPEN ENROLLMENT CONTINUES TO BE A DEFICIT FOR MAQUOKETA WITH 110 STUDENTS ENROLLED OUT BUT ONLY 57 COMING INTO THE DISTRICT.

THE JACKSON COUNTY CONFERENCE BOARD WILL MEET AT 5:30 TOMORROW NIGHT AT THE HURSTVILLE INTERPRETIVE CENTER.     MOST OF THE
DISCUSSION WILL BE ABOUT THE ASSESSOR'S FINAL SALARY PAYMENTS SINCE SHE HAS RESIGNED AND TAKING TIME/DOLLARS ACCUMULATED.
ALSO THERE MAY BE DISCUSSION ON HER REPLACEMENT.   CHIEF DEPUTY ASSESSOR TROY PATZNER IS IN CHARGE OF THE OFFICE UNTIL A NEW
ASSESSOR IS HIRED.

JOELLE DEPPE, COUNTY AUDITOR, TOLD THE SUPERVISORS THIS MORNING THAT HER OFFICE HAS SENT OUT 2,577 BALLOTS FOR EARLY VOTING AND
THAT 1,182 HAVE ALREADY BEEN RETURNED....COMPARABLE TO THE LAST GENERAL ELECTION.

THERE WILL BE A CANDIDATES FORUM TONIGHT AT 7 AT THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS, OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.     THERE MAY BE AS MANY AS 10
ON THE NOVEMBER 4TH BALLOT PRESENT.
