JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF RUSS KETTMANN TODAY SAID A DOCUMENT
WRITTEN AND SIGNED BY GUS GLASER SHOWED HIS INTENT TO
COMMIT SUICIDE TUESDAY, THE DAY HE DIED. THE SHERIFF DID NOT
CALL IT A SUICIDE NOTE. KETTMANN DECLINED FURTHER COMMENT.
MAQUOKETA POLICE ARRESTED TWO ADULTS AND ONE JUVENILE FOLLOWING AN ALTERCATION SATURDAY AT 602 EAST GROVE
STREET. CHIEF BRAD KORANDA SAID SOME CLINTON YOUTH CAME UP TO MAQUOKETA AND THERE WAS A FIGHT CONCERNING AN EX-GIRLFRIEND.
MAQUOKETA POLICE FOLLOWED ONE OF THE CARS AND THE ARRESTS
WERE MADE. TWO ARRESTED WERE FROM CLINTON AND ONE FROM
FULTON, ILLINOIS. THE YOUTH HAD THREATENED THE OCCUPANTS OF THE HOME AND WERE NOT SUCCESSFUL IN GETTING INTO THE HOME.
NO MAQUOKETA NAMES WERE LISTED ON THE REPORT. THERE WERE ABOUT 14 INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED IN THIS INCIDENT.
THERE HAVE BEEN MORE VEHICLE BREAKINS AND WINDOWS SHOT OUT
THE LAST FEW DAYS. NOT ONLY IN MAQUOKETA BUT IN ANDREW AND
BELLEVUE ALSO. POLICE CHIEF KORANDA URGED RESIDENTS TO CONTACT POLICE IMMEDIATELY IF THEY ARE THE VICTIMS OF VANDALISM AND ALSO URGED PEOPLE TO CALL THE POLICE IF THEY SEE A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE. AND HE FURTHER URGED RESIDENTS TO KEEP THEIR CARS, GARAGES AND HOME LOCKED.
