AN ADDITION TO THE CARDINAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IS UP, BUT A FOOT SHORT AND ITS IS CAUSING A STIR. THE BOARD WILL MEET TONIGHT TO DISCUSS IT. JOHN CRESSEY CONSTRUCTION IS THE CONTRACTOR.

THE FIRST DAY TO FILE PAPERS FOR THIS FALL'S CITY ELECTION IS AUGUST 25TH. UP FOR ELECTION THIS YEAR, THE MAYOR AND 5 COUNCIL SEATS.

CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT AT 7 AND REGULAR SCHOOL BAORD MEETING AT 7, AFTER EARLIER BUILDINGS TOUR.

ALVERNA GREEN , AGE 91, OF GALENA DIED SATURDAY AND A LOCAL SURVIVOR IS A DAUGHTER, LOIS DONATSCH OF MAQUOKETA.

BIG TURN OUT AT THE MAQUOEKTA COUNTRY CLUB SATURDAY AFTERNOON FOR ONNALEE BROMAN'S 80TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.
ANOTHER BIG 70TH BIRTDAY PARTY SATURDAY AFTERNOON AT THE MOOSE CLUB FOR DON KRANTZ. NANCY AND I ATTENDED BOTH.

JON POLL OF MAQUOKETA WAS THE ONLY MAQUOKETAN TO WIN A HEAT RACE AT THE STOCK CAR RACING SATURDAY NIGHT.
