SUNNY THIS MORNING, AND CLOUDY THIS AFTERNOON....58 THE HIGH.
WILL BE IN THE MID 70'S SATURDAY.

THE BAND "COUNTRY TRADITION" AND THE "FULL CODE" BAND WILL PLAY BEFORE AND AFTER THE CRAIG MORGAN SHOW SATURDAY NIGHT DURING THE
JACKSON COUNTY FAIR. FAIRBOARD MANAGER LANNY SIMPSON SAID THAT
"COUNTRY TRADITION" BAND MEMBERS ARE FROM JACKSON COUNTY AND WILL
PLAY AHEAD OF THE MORGAN CONCERT AND "FULL CODE" , WITH MEMBERS FROM
ANDREW AND DUBUQUE, WILL PLAY AFTER THE CONCERT IN VOLUNTEER HALL.
ANOTHER BAND HAS BEEN INVITED TO PLAY FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE FAIR, BUT THE
GROUP HAS NOT FORMALLY ACCEPTED. THE SELECTIONS WERE MADE
DURING THE FRIDAY NIGHT BATTLE OF THE BANDS AT THE FAIRGROUNDS.
LANNY SAID THERE WERE 9 ENTRIES AND JUDGES, ALONG WITH AUDIENCE BALLOTS, SELECTED THE BANDS FOR THE FAIR EVENTS.

A CAR THEFT IN MAQUOKETA. OFFICER BRENDAN ZEIMET SAID KELLY PESTKA
OF ROSEMERE LANE REPORTED YESTERDAY THAT HER 94 BUICK WAS TAKEN
SOMETIME DURING THE NIGHT. KEYS HAD BEEN LEFT IN IT.
THEN JUST AFTER NOON YESTERDAY, ZEIMET SPOTTED THE CAR PARKED
AT COLONIAL SQUARE APARTMENTS. THERE APPEARED TO BE NO DAMAGE
TO THE CAR AND THE KEYS WERE MISSING.

JOHN DROSTE, AGE 71, OF CAMANCHE, DIED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT LAST WEEK.
HIS FUNERAL IS TOMORROW AT THE PAPE FUNERAL HOME IN CLINTON.
HE IS SURVIVED BY 3 BROTHERS, INCLUDING FRED DROSTE OF MAQUOKETA.

LENTA JACKSON, AGE 78, FORMERLY OF MAQUOKETA, DIED APRIL 1ST IN BOISE,IDAHO. SHE HAD WORKED FOR IOWA SOCIAL SERVICES IN MAQUOKETA AND FOR CLINTON ENGINES. SHE IS SURVIVED BY A DAUGHTER, KENNA MANNING, FORMERLY OF MAQUOKETA. IF I REMEMBER RIGHT, SHE AND HER DAUGHTER
SANG AND WE AIRED SOME OF THEIR SONGS ON KMAQ ON A PROGRAM THEY
PURCHASED.

CLINTON ENGINES MUSEUM NEWS: A TIMELINE IS BEING DESIGNED FOR THE EAST
WALL OF THE SOUTH ENTRY THAT WILL SUMMARIZE THE DEVELOPMENT OF
THE COMPANY. IT WILL SERVE AS A GUIDE FOR VISITORS WHO ARE UNFAMILIAR
WITH THE HISTORY OF CLINTON ENGINES.
