MOSTLY CLOUDY TOMORROW, HIGH OF 56.

FRIDAY, 66 AND SATURDAY 57.

TODAY IS NATIONAL JELLY BEAN DAY!   HOW DO I KNOW?   DIANE GIDDINGS, MANAGER OF CLOVER RIDGE PLACE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY IN
MAQUOKETA (AND ONE OF  THE RESIDENTS, BERNICE FRANK) WERE OUT
THIS AFTERNOON PASSING OUT A BAG OF MINIATURE JELLY BEANS WITH
A TAG THAT TOLD ALL ABOUT THIS DAY.    JELLY BEANS DATE BACK TO THE 1860'S.    JELLY BEANS WERE PROMOTED AS MORALE BOOSTERS IN THE ARMY TROOPS FIGHTING IN THE CIVIL WAR.    JELLY BEANS BECAME PART OF THE EASTER TRADITION IN THE 1930'S.   PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN KEPT
JELLY BEANS ON HIS DESK.     I HAVE JELLY BEANS IN A DISH IN THE KITCHEN
RIGHT NOW...GOT THEM FROM OSTERHAUS PHARMACY AND GIFTS BEFORE EASTER.    PRESIDENT REAGAN SENT JELLY BEANS INTO SPACE IN 1983 ON THE "CHALLENGER" AS A SURPRISE FOR THE ASTRONAUTS.
THANKS FOR THE JELLY BEANS DIANE AND BERNICE.
