TUESDAY DAILY REPORT

RAINY TODAY, NOT HEAVY RAIN, AND COOL WITH TEMPS AROUND 50.
WE WILL HAVE TO TO WAIT UNTIL THURSDAY FOR BETTER WEATHER.

THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING NEXT
WEEK WILL BE AT 1 P.M. ON TUESDAY.    THE CHANGE BECAUSE OF
VETERAN'S DAY MONDAY.

FOUR MEMBERS OF BURNETT-THIEL FORD'S STAFF RECEIVED AWARDS
RECENTLY FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY.    THEY ARE:   SERVICE TECH JEFF STREEPER, LOUIE BARTELS SERVICE MANAGER, THOMAS CAHILL PARTS MANAGER AND SALES CONSULTANT DALE WEEKS.    THEY RECEIVED FRAMED AWARDS AND GIFT CARDS.

THE KAYE YOUNG OPEN "WRESTLING TOURNAMENT" WAS HELD LAST
SATURDAY AT NORTH IOWA AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN MASON CITY.
KAYE WAS MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL WRESTING COACH BACK IN
THE 60'S.    I  DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS AN ANNUAL TOURNAMENT NAMED
AFTER HIM.

THE MANAGER OF THE K-MOTORSPORTS STORE ON EAST PLATT, KOLE KROMMINGA, AGE 27, OF MONTICELLO DIED SUNDAY FROM INJURIES RECEIVED IN AN OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT.    FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE AT 11 THURSDAY MORNING AT PEACE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST
IN MONTICELLO.  FRIENDS MAY CALL AFTER 3 WEDNEDAY AFTERNOON
AT THE GOETTSCH FUNERAL HOME IN MONTICELLO.    HE IS SURVIVED
BY HIS  PARENTS, GREG AND CHRISTI  KROMMINGA OF MONTICELLO
(OWNERS OF THE BUSINESS) A SISTER,  A BROTHER AND HIS FIANCE'  ASHLEY ENGELBART.   HE HAD WAS MANAGER OF THE MAQUOKETA BUSINESS SINCE 2011.

THE JACKSON COUNTY REGIONAL HEALTH CENTER BOARD MEMBERS WILL
MEET IN SPECIAL SESSION AT 7:30 TOMORROW MORNING AT T HE HOSPITAL BOARD ROOM.       KEN CROKEN, GENESIS CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS
VICE-PRESIDENT WILL PRESENT THE COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS
ASSESSMENT.   THERE WILL ALSO BE DISCUSSION O0F STRATEGIES TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS.    THE MEETING WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

VERY FEW ARE VOTING TODAY IN MAQUOKETA AS THERE IS NO CONTEST.
50 YEARS AGO TODAY, A RECORD 2,034 MAQUOKETA VOTERS WENT TO THE POLLS.   ELECTED:   MAYOR, BEN JACOBSEN (HARDWARE OWNER) AND
COUNCILMEN....WARREN BOLT, EDWARD MYATT, GAYLORD WILLMAN, JAMES
ROUND AND J.J. MAROUSIS.

MAQUOKETA'S ANNUAL VETERAN'S DAY PROGRAM WILL BEGIN AT 8:45 A.M.
MONDAY AT THE MAQUOKETA MIDDLE SCHOOL GYM.  THE PUBLIC
IS INVITED.

THE MAQUOKETA SENTINAL-PRESS IS HAVING A MITTEN TREE AGAIN
THIS YEAR.   THEY ARE ASKING FOR NEW MITTENS, GLOVES, PAJAMAS,
HATS, SCARVES, SOCKS AND EAR MUFFS.   DROP YOUR DONATION
OFF AT THE OFFICE BEFORE DECEMBER 9TH.     THE ITEMS WILL
BE DISTRICUTED THROUGH THE MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY SERVICES
CHRISTMAS STAR PROGRAM.

IF YOU READ MY ON-THE-ROAD BIT HERE LAST SUNDAY, YOU MAY  RECALL
I MENTIONED THE MANY NICE HOMES IN RURAL JACKSON COUNTY.   THIS
ONE NEEDS SOME WORK!   NICE TREE BEHIND IT FOR FUTURE SHADE.

INTERESTED.    ED KNOWS JACKSON COUNTY LIKE NOBODY ELSE, FROM MONMOUTH IN THE WEST TO ST. DONATUS IN THE NORTHEAST, 30 MILES AWAY.   JACKSON COUNTY IS A BIG BEAUTIFUL COUNTY!  AND IT HAS
THE PLUS OF HAVING THE GREAT MISSISSIPPI RIVER ON IT'S BORDER.
