JACKSON COUNTY AUDITOR COTTON WAS DEFEATED.

JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVIOR KENDALL WAS DEFEATED.

TOM SCHUELER WAS ELECTED ST. REP. TO REPLACE
RETIRING BOB OSTERHAUS.




PARTLY SUNNY AND UPPER 40'S TODAY...NOT A BAD DAY FOR VOTING.

VOTING HEAVY IN MAQUOKETA.

AN APPOINTED COMMITTEE IS SUGGESTING MAQUOKETA MUNICIPAL
ELECTRIC UTILITY NOT GO INTO THE NATURAL GAS BUSINESS. THE COMMITTEE RECOMENDATION WILL NOW GO TO THE MMEU BOARD TO BE DISCUSSED AT THEIR
NOV. 18TH MEETING. IT WILL THEN BE UP TO THE MMEU BOARD TO DECIDE TO DROP THE IDEA OR ASK THE CITY COUNCIL FOR A REFERENDUM. KIM HUCKSTADT HAS SERVED AS THE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN AND ON THE COMMITTEE WITH HIM:
KEN ALTHOFF, ASHER SCHROEDER, PAT HURLEY, TROY THIEDE, PAT WELLS AND ANNE HAWKS.
