SATURDAY DAILY

EVERYONE KNEW FRAN.    HE DIED OF PROSTRATE CANCER YESTERDAY WHERE
HE LIVED IN THE QUAD CITIES.    HE HAD A LONG CAREER WITH KWQC, CHANNEL 6 AND RETIRED LAST YEAR.    HIS FOCUS WAS GOING OUT IN THE FIELD AND
DOING 2-3 MINUTE FEATURES ABOUT A BUSINESS OR PERSON.    I  DID SEVERAL WITH HIM  OVER THE YEARS.     AT MY DRIVE-IN THEATRE AND AT KMAQ.   HE LIKED KMAQ AND ALWAYS WISHED HE HAD BEEN ABLE DURING HIS LIFE TO WORK IN A SMALL TOWN RADIO STATION.    HIS LAST FEATURE HERE HE DID JUST BEFORE HE RETIRED LAST YEAR.    YOU CAN SEE IT.... JUST GOOGLE FRAN RILEY KMAQ IN MAQUOKETA FEATURE.     LAST NIGHT ON CHANNEL 6 THEY PLAYED THE ONE HE DID AT THE  HOP IN CANTON AND REPLAYED IT AGAIN THIS MORNING.   YOU CAN GOOGLE AND BRING IT UP TOO.    I THINK IT WAS ABOUT A  YEAR OR TWO AGO HE DID ONE WITH RED HENTON AT HOME HERE IN TOWN, ABOUT RED'S MUSIC AND HORSE SHOE PITCHING LIFE.    ALL OF HIS FEATURES...AND HE DID 1,500....WERE FUN TO WATCH AND INTERESTING.    THE LAST TIME I TALKED TO HIM WAS AFTER COMPLETING THE INTERVIEW ON KMAQ LATE LAST YEAR.    WE AGREED TO HAVE DINNER AT THE DECKER THIS SUMMER AND TAKE IN THE FIRST MOVIE AT THE DRIVE-IN AFTER.   I WAS SAD LAST NIGHT TO GET THE NEWS ON HIS PASSING.
HAD NO IDEA HE HAD A HEALTH PROBLEM.

WEDNESDAY DAILY

WHEN YOU COME INTO MAQUOKETA FROM DAVENPORT, JUST BEFORE YOU TAKE
THE FIRST S MAIN ST EXIT, UP ON THE HILL, YOU CAN SEE THE NEW HOSPITAL.
I BELIEVE IT WILL BE THE ONLY REAL GOOD AREA ON  HIGHWAY 61 WHERE
THE HOSPITAL WILL BE VISABLE TO THE PUBLIC.
ANYWAY, BELOW ARE 6 PHOTOS AROUND THE HOSPITAL.
A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE WORKING TODAY....MUST HAVE BEEN 50 CONSTRUCTION
EMPLOYEE CARS AS YOU WILL SEE.

ANOTHER MAIN ENTRANCE?    FOR WHO?  NO ANSWER.

MORE EMPLOYEE CARS...THEY ARE PARKED IN FOUR
DIFFERENT AREAS.

AMBULANCE GARAGE AT LEFT....I ASSUME.

THE LOOK OF THE EAST SIDE.
IT IS GOING TO BE BIG.
BUT SMALLER THAN OUR PRESENT ONE.
TOTAL COST.....$36 MILLION IF I REMEMBER RIGHT.
$16 MILLION IN BANK FOR DOWN PAYMENT.
NET PROFIT WILL PAY OFF THE BOND.
NO TAX MONEY TO BUILD IT.
MAYBE, IT WILL BE DONE YET THIS YEAR.
EXCITING!

THIS IS NATIONAL AG WEEK.
90% OF ABOVE FARMS ARE FAMILY FARMS.

IT WAS A SUGGESTION BY THE POPE.     THAT AT NOON, TODAY, AROUND THE WORLD, CHRISTIANS WOULD SAY THE LORD'S PRAYER.    AT 12 NOON, ABOVE, PASTOR NEAL HARRISON AND FATHER AUSTIN WILKER PRAY THE PRAYER ON KMAQ.

MANY YEARS AGO,  PEOPLE ALSO HAD THE SEARS CATALOG.

TAKE CARE...
WASH YOUR HANDS...
PRAY THAT TOMORROW THE CRISIS
WILL BE BETTER, NOT WORSE.

DENNIS VOY
