MONDAY DAILY REPORT

CRAZY WEATHER.
1  1/2 INCHES OF RAIN OVER THE WEEKEND.
AND ANOTHER 3/4 INCH TODAY.    TWICE TODAY WE HAD A DOWNPOUR, FOLLOWED BY SUNSHINE.    HIGH TODAY 80.
TOMORROW, 80 AGAIN AND NO RAIN.
RAIN TUESDAY NIGHT.
WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY, LITTLE RAIN AND HIGHS ONLY IN 70'S.

THE VOTING IS OVER AND THE NAME OF JACKSON COUNTY'S NEW PARK
JUST EAST OF MAQUOKETA WILL BE:   "PRAIRIE CREEK RECREATION AREA".
THE LAND WAS THE LATE BOB MARTIN PROPERTY AND WILLED TO JACKSON COUNTY.

JUST OVER 800 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE FIREMEN'S BREAKFAST.
NOT A RECORD, BUT A GOOD TURNOUT AND FIREMEN THANK ALL
THAT ATTENDED.   THE CHAIRMAN OF IT WAS RYAN MEIERS.   IT WAS THE 35TH ANNUAL.

THE POLLS WILL BE OPEN FROM 7  A.M. UNTIL 9 P.M. TOMORROW.
FOR COUNTY SUPERVISORS, WE HAVE BOTH A DEMOCRATIC AND
REPUBLICAN CONTEST.

CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT.

IN SPORTS:   AT THE STATE  GIRL'S GOLF TOURNAMENT TODAY AT AMES,
ALLISON VANDEMORE SHOT AN 81 TODAY, GOOD FOR 3RD PLACE AT
THIS TIME.     SHE PLAYS 18 MORE HOLES TOMORROW, STARTING AT
9 A.M.

THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY TRAP SHOOT TEAM CLAIMED THE STATE TOURNAMENT AT THE CEDAR FALLS GUN CLUB SATURDAY, FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW.   MAQUOKETA HAD TWO PERFECT SCORES OF 100 BY SAM FOWLER AND LANE DUNDEE.   BRAD SCHEIBE AND JACOB SCHWENKER BOTH SHOT 99.    COLTON MANNING HAD A 98.    THE TEAM SCORE FOR 1ST PLACE WAS 496.    CHARLES CITY WAS SECOND IN THE
STATE WITH A 483.
NEXT, THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT IN SPARTA, ILLINOIS IN LATE JULY.
