FRIDAY DAILY

MATT CLARK WILL GO ON-THE-AIR AT 6:45 TONIGHT, "LIVE" FROM CENTER POINT...ON AM AND FM AND OUR  KMAQ HOME WEB PAGE.    THE CARDINALS
ARE 0 AND 2 AND CENTER POINT-URBANA IS 1 AND 1.   LATE THIS AFTERNOON THE SCHOOL INFORMED US THAT TONIGHT'S PRELIMINARY
FRESHMAN GAME WILL NOT BE PLAYED....ONLY THE VARSITY GAME,
AT 7 P.M.   IT IS SUNNY NOW (AT 4:30) BUT BAD WEATHER WEST OF
US IS COMING AND THEY HOPE TO GET THE GAME IN BEFORE THE
WEATHER GETS TO THE FOOTBALL FIELD.     CENTER POINT IS ABOUT 90 MINUTES FROM MAQUOKETA.


THE MAQUOKETA STATE BANK HAD THE EDGE OF THEIR BUILDING
LANDSCAPE RE-DONE AFTER THE NEW SIDEWALK WAS FINISHED.
LOOKS NICE...THE OLD BRICK ON LEFT AND NEW STONE EDGE ON RIGHT.

THE BRICK LAYERS LAID THE 100-YEAR-OLD BRICKS IN FRONT OF
KMAQ TODAY.    THEY WILL WATER DOWN AND COMPRESS AND SWEEP
OFF THE SAND LATER.
TODAY THEY PUT UP THE NEW BLACK POLES FOR THE "TURNING
SIGNS" AT PLATT AND MAIN....AND THE SIGNS TOO.
AT YESTERDAY'S UPDATE MEETING, THE CONTRACTOR SAID THEY ARE
STILL PLANNING TO OPEN MAIN AND PLATT ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH.
SOUTH MAIN STREET THIS AFTERNOON.    STREET IS POURED.  WORKING ON
SIDEWALKS NOW.    LOTS OF WORK DONE ON EAST-WEST PLEASANT STREET ALSO THIS WEEK.    LITTLE DONE ON THE THEATRE BLOCK OF SOUTH MAIN.
