THE MAQUOKETA OPTISTM CLUB HELD THEIR ANNUAL FIREMEN'S APPRECIATION BANQUET TUESDAY AT THE EAGLES CLUB.
THE SPEAKER WAS BILL MUELLER, OF DEWITT, DRIVER'S EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR AND FORMER TEACHER IN MAQUOKETA WHO HAS WRITTEN A BOOK ABOUT BEING A DRIVER'S ED INSTRUCTOR. CARL MUHLHAUSEN INTRODUCED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT MEMBERS AND PETE SCHUELLER
TALKED ABOUT THE RESCUE SQUAD, WHICH HAS 18 VOLUNTEERS.
THE OPTIMIST CLUB PRESENTED THE ANNUAL APPRECIATION AWARD TO THEM. THE MEMBERS ARE: BJORN BECK....GREGORY BOPES....JERRY

A FORMER MAQUOKETA BUSINESSMAN IN THE 50'S AND 60'S, DARYL
CASIDY, DIED SUNDAY IN THE DALLAS AREA. DARYL, AGE 85, OWNED
CASIDY SPORTING GOODS IN MAQUOKETA FOR MANY YEARS.
HIS FUNERAL WILL BE IN TEXAS LATER THIS WEEK. AMONG SURVIVORS
IS A SISTER, SANDRA KINRADE IN MAQUOKETA.

DEERY MOTORS FOR DETAILING THEIR TRADE-IN VEHICLES. IT OPENED IN SEPTEMBER.
THE ABOVE MOVIE FOR ALL THE FAMILY IS BEING HELD OVER FOR A 2ND BIG WEEK AT BOTH THE 61 DRIVE-IN THEATRE SOUTH OF MAQUOKETA AND
THE VOY THEATRE IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA.
