TREASURER NANCY ROLING. ALSO FILING FOR THE SUPERVISOR POSITION HELD BY STEVEN FLYNN IS JEFF HOLTZ OR RURAL MAQUOKETA.
FLYNN HAS ANNOUNCED HE ISN'T SEEKING RE-ELECTION. THE OTHER
SUPERVISOR POSITION UP THIS YEAR IS NOW HELD BY JACK WILLEY AND HE HAS SAID HE WILL SEEK RE-ELECTION. THE DEADLINE TO FILE IS
AT 5 P.M. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26TH.

THE JACKSON COUNTY HORSE AND HARNESS ASSOCIATION WILL HAVE A NEW HOME. THE CITY COUNCIL UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED RENTING FOUR ACRES NEXT TO THE CLINTON ENGINES MUSEUM FOR USE BY THE GROUP.
THEY PREVIOUSLY PLANTED CROPS AT THE COUNTY FARM NEAR ANDREW.
THE GROUP WILL PLANT CORN AND THEN IN THE FALL, THEY HAVE
COMPETITION IN HAND CORN PICKING, USING HORSES PULLING THE WAGON WHERE THE CORN IS THROWN. THIS SITE WILL BE IDEAL AS IT WILL BE NEXT TO THE ANTIQUE FARM MACHINERY BUILDING.

TWO VEHICLES COLLIDED ON HIGHWAY 61 AND 91ST STREET THE MORNING OF MARCH 5TH. BARBARA ROE OF MAQUOKETA, AGE 53, WAS DRIVING NORTH AND CAROL MILLER, AGE 45 OF MAQUOKETA, WAS DRIVING EAST.
MILLER PULLED OUT INTO THE INTERSECTION AND THE TWO COLLIDED.
$6,500 DAMAGE TO THE MILLER CHEVY AND $7,000 TO THE ROE CAR.
MILLER WAS CHARGED. ROE WAS TAKEN BY THE MAQUOKETA AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL IN MAQUOKETA.
