THE JACKSON COUNTY FAIRBOARD HAS SELECTED RON EVANS TO BE THE 2005 FAIR PARADE
MARSHALL. HE WAS A LONGTIME MAQUOKETA POLICEMAN AND POLICE CHIEF AND AFTER RETIRING, WAS THE PART TIME GROUNDSKEEPER FOR THE FAIR GROUNDS. EVANS AND HIS WIFE, DORIS, WILL BE RIDING IN THE PARADE IN MAQUOKETA WEDNESDAY NIGHT, JULY27TH. THEY MOVED TO PELLA A COUPLE YEARS AGO, WHERE THEIR DAUGTHER AND FAMILY LIVES.

MARY JO HAINSTOCK (MRS. RICHARD), WHO LIVE JUST SOUTH OF MAQUOKETA, IS THE DELWOOD
SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS, AND EFFECTIVE JULY 1ST, WILL ALSO BECOME THE SUPT. OF THE BENNETT SCHOOL DISTRICT. BOTH DISTRICTS HAVE STUDENTS THROUGH 6TH GRADE ONLY. DELWOOD UPPER STUDENTS, ON A WHOLE GRADE SHARING AGREEMENT WITH MAQUOKETA, ATTEND AT MAQUOKETA. BENNETT UPPER GRADE KIDS, EFFECTIVE THIS FALL,WILL GO TO DURANT.

LYNN AND NORMA DISNEY OF MAQUOKETA WILL CELEBRATE THEIR GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY THIS SUNDAY. LYNN WAS MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIAL WHEN HE RETIRED SEVERAL YEARS AGO.

TIM KELLY OF S. VERMONT STREET IN MAQUOKETA, REPORTED TO MAQUOKETA POLICE THAT HIS 1995 PURPLE GMC SONOMA WAS TAKEN FROM HIS HOME SOMETIME OVERNIGHT. KEYS HAD BEEN LEFT IN THE VEHHICLE.

JERRY RASMUSSEN, LONGTIME (RETIRED) MAQUOKETA BUSINESSMAN WAS AT THE AIRPORT BREAKFAST WITH WIFE DOROTHY SUNDAY AND I TOOK THEIR PICTURE AND IT CAN BE SEEN
