TWO VEHICLES WERE STOLEN FROM MAQUOKETA EARLY TODAY AND FOUND IN CLINTON COUNTY. AROUND 5:30 THIS MORNING, CRAIG MARKLE OF MAQUOKETA REPORTED HIS UNLOCKED VEHICLE WITH THE KEYS
INSIDE WAS TAKEN OVERNIGHT AND WAS FOUND IN CLINTON COUNTY.
IT WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THERE. ANOTHER VEHICLE OWNED BY
MAKE TRENKAMP WAS TAKEN FROM EHLERS LAINE BEHIND CLOVER RIDGE
PLACE. CLINTON COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTY STEVE CONDIFF SAID SETH SIMONIN OF MAQUOKETA WAS FOUND IN THE MARKLE VEHICLE. HE HAS
BEEN CHARGED WITH OPERATING A VEHICLE WITHOUT OWNER'S CONSENT.
LAW INFORCEMENT IS WORKING ON ARRESTING ANOTHER PERSON THAT TOOK THE TRENKAMP VEHICLE, WHICH WAS ALSO PARTFOF THE ACCIDENT.
TRENKAMP'S VEHICLE WAS FOUND IN A DITCH.
THE JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVISORS MET THIS MORNING IN THEIR REGULAR MEETING PLACE EVEN THOUGH THE CARPET HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED FOLLOWING THE SHOOTING LAST TUESDAY. THE ENTIRE ROOM WILL BE RE-CARPETED. THE SHATTERED GLASS DOOR HAS BEEN REPAIRED.
SUPERVISOR CHAIRMAN JACK WILLEY READ A STATEMENT PRAISING
THOSE AT THE COURTHOUSE LAST WEEK FOR THEIR ACTIONS AFTER THE SHOOTING. HE BECAME EMOTIONAL AS HE MENTIONED THE CALLS AND LETTERS FORM RESIDENTS AND SAID THE SUPERVISORS WILL CONTINUE TO WORK IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE COUNTY. THE OTHER TWO SUPERVISORS SAID THEY AGREED WITH WILLEY'S COMMENTS.
THERE WERE 3 STUDENTS AT THE MEETING TODAY. SHERIFF RUSS KETTMANN WAS PRESENT FOR THE ENTIRE MEETING.
THE LOCAL WALK TO END ALZHEIMERS HELD IN MAQUOKETA WAS A HUGE
SUCCESS ACCORDING TO COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON KERRY SHEETS.
THE WALK NETTED $13,200. THERE WERE 18 TEAMS, PLUS INDIVIDUALS AND OVER 200 WALKERS TOOK PART.
DAVID REDERER, 72, OF CLINTON, DIED FRIDAY AND HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE TOMORROW MORNING. SURVIVORS INCLUDE A SON, MICHAEL OF MAQUOEKETA.
MARY EHLINGER, 91, OF LAMOTTE DIED YESTERDAY. THE FUNERAL WILL BE FRIDAY MORNING. SURVIVORS INCLUDE 19 CHILDREN INCLUDING
MARY ANN KNIGHT AND MARGIE BRINKER, BOTH OF MAQUOKETA.
