4/10 OF AN INCH OF RAIN YESTERDAY.
TODAY....SUNNY, NICE AND IN MID 50'S.
THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL MET FOR A SHORT MEETING LAST NIGHT AND
UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED SPENDING $7,700 FOR A STUDY THAT WILL NEED TO BE DONE BEFORE THE CITY CAN APPLY FOR A BROWNFIELD GRANT TO HELP CLEAN-UP
THE DEBRIS FROM THE DOWNTOWN FIRE. THE NEWS RELEASE DID NOT SAY WHAT THE STUDY WILL CONSIST OF AND WHO WILL DO IT, AND HOW MUCH WILL BE
ASKED FOR IN THE GRANT. AND, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT A BROWNFIELD GRANT IT.
BUT, GUESS WE'LL LEARN MORE IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE.
MEANWHILE, WE'LL CROSS OUR FINGERS.
THAT'S ALL FOR TODAY.
