THURSDAY DAILY

YESTERDAY, THE  CAREER FAIR AND JOB BANK WAS HELD AT THE FAIRGROUNDS IN MAQUOKETA AND STUDENTS WERE INVITED FIRST, FROM 1 UNTIL 2 P.M.    STOPPING BY AT THE KMAQ TABLE,  THE STARS OF THE LONGTIME SATURDAY MORNING
PROGRAM, "MARQUETTE IN MOTION", COACHED BY MARQUETTE TEACHER TRICIA KILBURG.    IT IS ON EVERY SATURDAY MORNING ON KMAQ-FM AT 11:45, RECORDED EARLIER IN THE WEEK BY THE ABOVE MARQUETTE STUDENTS.    IT IS NOT ON DURING THE SUMMER VACATION TIME.
LEFT TO RIGHT: JUSTINA DENLINGER, SENIOR, DAUGHTER OF JASON AND KELLY KINTZLE.....MARCY KREMER, SENIOR, DAUGHTER OF SHANE AND STEFANI KREMER.....AMIE SIEVERDING, SENIOR, DAUGHTER OF LORAS AND MARY SIEVERDING.....HALLE KILBURG, JUNIOR, DAUGHTER OF GARY AND  TRICIA KILBURG.....MARANDA PETERS, JUNIOR, DAUGHTER OF CHARLIE AND JENNI PETERS....JEB SCHWAGER, SENIOR, SON OF MICK AND TRICIA  SCHWAGER.....GARRET KRIEG, SENIOR, SON OF GARY AND JENNEFIT KRIEG AND LUKE KIES, SON OF
JOHN AND MARY KIES.
EACH WEEK, THE SHOW FEATURES NEWS, EVENTS HELD OR COMING AND 
INTERVIEWS,  ALL CONCERNING THE MARQUETTE SCHOOL SYSTEM.  THIS PAST
TUESDAY, THEY INTERVIEWED SENATOR CHUCK GRASSLEY WHEN HE VISITED 
MARQUETTE AND SPOKE TO STUDENTS.     THAT INTERVIEW WILL BE INCLUDED
ON THIS SATURDAY'S SHOW.     
OH BY THE WAY, THE GIRL IN BACK OF PHOTO IS SENIOR LAUREN SIEVERDING.
SHE IS NOT ON RADIO SHOW STAFF, BUT ENJOYING THE MAQUOKETA VISIT
WITH HER FELLOW STUDENTS.    

AS MOST OF YOU KNOW,  THE SMALL BEAUTIFUL TOWN OF BELLEVUE ALONG THE
MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI RIVER, HAS TWO  K-12 SCHOOL DISTRICTS.   BELLEVUE MARQUETTE CATHOLIC AND THE COMMUNITY DISTRICT.       UNUSUAL OF
COURSE.     THEY WORK TOGETHER, AND ENJOY BELLEVUE TOGETHER...
AND HAVE GREAT FACILITIES, GOOD ATHLETES AND GREAT STAFF.    BELLEVUE
COMMUNITY IS IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING APPROVAL TO BUILD A NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO REPLACE A VERY OLD ONE.

AND BELLEVUE NOW  HAS THEIR OWN KMAQ FM FREQUENCY.    IN BELLEVUE AND IMMEDIATE RURAL AREA,  ALL KMAQ-AM PROGRAMS ARE BROADCAST ON 92.5 F.M.    NO STATIC...PERFECT RECEPTION IN BUILDINGS AND IN CARS AND
TRUCKS.    KMAQ-AM SHOWS ARE NOW LOUD AND CLEAR DOWN IN THE
VALLEY.        AND KMAQ-FM, 95.1 PROGRAMS, THANKS TO THE CITY,  ARE ALSO
CARRIED ALL THE TIME ON THE LOCAL CABLE TV CHANNEL.

HOPE THE 2,000 PLUS CITIZENS OF BELLEVUE GET TO SEE THE PHOTO ABOVE 
AND THE STORY WITH IT.    GO COMETS!     GO WARRIORS!   GO TUG BOATS!
TOURISTS STOP ALL SUMMER LONG COME TO WATCH THE TUGS AND BARGES GO
THROUGH THE DOWNTOWN LOCK AND DAM.     DEFINITELY WORTH  WATCHING.
THE LOCK AND DAM IS BELLEVUE'S $BILLION TOURIST ATTRACTION YEAR
AROUND.    AND THE VETERANS MEMORIAL ALONG THE RIVER IS ALSO WORTH
A TRIP TO SEE.
