3 1/2 inches of rain yesterday. Over 5 inches already in February. Rain most of today.
High near 40. Foggy now. Enough on the weather!! No school today because of the weather.

The Maquoketa wresttlers did well in the Sectional Saturday. As a team, they took 2nd and are in the Team Tournament tomorrow night. They win twice tomorrow night, they will be in the State TEAM TOURNAMENT. Individually, they had 7 take first or second Saturday and those seven are in the District Tourament this Saturday. Saturday were Sophomores Marcus Breeden and Thomas Mayberry and finishing second in their weight, Dakota Snyder, Ryan Flagel, Josh Breeden, Larry Eggers and Mattias Delegardelle.
IN BASKETBALL FRIDAY NIGHT, Maquoketa girls defeated Independence, there, 45 to 39 to improving to 6 and 13. The Maquoketa boys also beat Independence, here, in overtime,
62 to 61. Then, Saturday, they defeated Monticello 52 to 40 and are now 7 and 10 for the year.
They host Dyersville tomorrow night.

A MAQUOKETA WOMAN, JOYCE MANNING, AGE 45, FACES DRUG CHARGES INCLUDING SELLING COCAINE AND MARIJUANA. SHE IS NOT IN JAIL BUT SIGNED A PROMISE TO APPEAR IN JACKSON COUNTY MAGISTRATE COURT ON FEBRUARY 14TH.

RHONDA AND LYNN HUEBBE OF MAQUOKETA ARE PARENTS OF A GIRL BORN THURSDAY AT LOCAL HOSPITAL. GRANDPARENTS ARE JERRY AND SARAH EASTERLY OF MAQUOKETA AND ELMER AND RACHEL HUEBBE OF MAQUOKETA.

JAY AND TARA GOHLMAN OF BOSTON, MASS. ARE PARENTS OF A BOY BORN FRIDAY AT MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL. GRANDPARENTS ARE FLORIAN AND KAREN STEFFEN AND GREAT GRANDMOTHER IS IRENE GOHLMAN.

RAN INTO FERN DOSLAND, FORMERLY OF MAQUOKETA, YESTERDAY AT LIONS BREAKFAST AT GOOSE LAKE. SHE NOW LIVES IN CLINTON. LOOKED GOOD AND DOING WELL. HER LATE HUSBAND AND I WERE LONGTIME MEMBERS OF THE MAQUOKETA LIONS CLUB YEARS AGO.
