WE HAVE BEEN OUT AND ABOUT:
TOP PHOTO...SOME OF THE FALL DECORATIONS AT CHUCK GREEN'S "FAIRYLAND RESTAURANT" JUST SOUTH OF DEWITT. USED TO BE
A BIG-BAND DANCE HALL AND NOW, HOME OF GOOD WEEKEND FOOD AND NO MORE DANCES. WE HAD THE CATFISH FILET DINNER A WEEK AGO FRIDAY WITH DEWITT FRIENDS BILL AND SHIRLEY. SUPER DINNER.
SATURDAY, WE VISITED THE "PRIDE OF THE WAPSI PUMPKIN FARM" ABOUT 10 MINUTES SOUTH OF DEWITT OFF OLD HIGHWAY 61. HUGE! ACRES AND ACRES OF PUMPKINS....LOTS OF THINGS FOR THE KIDS....THEY HAD FOUR OR FIVE HIGH SCHOOL KIDS PARKING CARS....THAT BIG.
ALSO SATURDAY, VISITED "CROSSROADS GIFT AND SANDWICH" JUST
ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE DOWNTOWN DEWITT PARK. IT OPENED
LESS THAN A YEAR AGO...AND A PLACE YOU WILL ENJOY VISITING. THE
OPEN STAIRWAY LEADS TO THE BASEMENT, WHERE YOU FIND MORE GIFTS
AND A SMALL RESTAURANT.
YESTERDAY, A QUICK VISIT TO "PIONEER DAY" AT THE FAIRGROUNDS.
BOUGHT AN APPLE PIE. TOOK THE PHOTO IN PEARSON CENTER OF THE
TOY TRACTORS ON DISPLAY FOR THE DAY. THE BOTTOM BLACK AND
WHITE PHOTO,WAS ONE OF ABOUT 25, ASKING TO "NAME THIS STORE".
WHERE DO YOU THINK THAT STORE WAS IN JACKSON COUNTY?
A FAMOUS MAN USED TO BUY CANDY THERE.
AGAIN THIS YEAR, THE LEAVES ARE BEAUTIFUL IN JACKSON COUNTY!
FARMERS ARE PICKING CORN LIKE CRAZY.
AS ALWAYS, CLICK-ON PHOTOS TO ENLARE THEM.
