SOME SUNSHINE THIS AFTERNOON AND A HIGH OF  37.

TOURNAMENT BASKETBALL LAST NIGHT, AT DUBUQUE WAHLERT, THE
MAQUOKETA CARDINAL GIRLS TRAILED BY JUST A POINT AT THE HALF BUT THEN LOST 53 TO 34.   THEY ENDED THE SEASON AT 4 WINS AND 18 LOSSES.

THE 3 MIDLAND OF WYOMING WRESTLERS THIS MORNING AT THE STATE
TOURNAMENT IN DES MOINES, ALL WON THEIR OPENING MATCH AND
WRESTLE AGAIN TOMORROW.     THE 4 DEWITT WRESTLERS HAVE THEIR FIRST MATCH TONIGHT.   DR. PAUL KOOB IS DOING THE BROADCASTS
AGAIN THIS YEAR ON KMAQ AND AS USUAL, DOING A GREAT JOB.

THE MAQUOKETA BOWLING TEAMS, GIRLS AND BOYS, BOWL TODAY
AT CHERRY LANES IN DUBUQUE  FOR THE RIGHT TO GO TO THE STATE
HIGH SCHOOL BOWLING TOURNAMENT AT PLAZA LANES IN DES MOINES ON FEBRUARY 21 AND 22.

THE MAQUOKETA STATE BANK ANNUAL MEETING OF STOCKHOLDERS WAS  HELD YESTERDAY AND TWO PROMOTIONS WERE ANNOUNCED.    AMY MOORE (A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER) WAS PROMOTED TO VICE-PRESIDENT, LOAN OPERATIONS MANAGER.     AND TANYA ROEDER WAS PROMOTED TO VICE-PRESIDENT, CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER.   CO-PRESIDENTS OF
M-S-B, FLORIAN STEFFEN AND BARB MILLER REPORTED ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL FINANCIAL YEAR FOR MAQUOKETA STATE BANK WITH TOTAL ASSETS GROWING TO NEARLY $315 MILLION.   BANK CEO AL TUBBS REFLECTED AT THE MEETING ON STATE AND NATIONAL TRENDS IN THE BANKING INDUSTRY.   HE REPORTED THAT OVERALL THE BANKING INDUSTRY CONTINUES TO RECOVER FROM THE FINANCIAL CRISIS THAT BEGAN IN 2008.

EDMUND STEFFEN, 95, OF DELHI, DIED MONDAY AT SHADY REST CARE CENTER IN CASCADE.      FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 3 - 7 P.M. FRIDAY AT ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH IN DELHI AND THE FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE AT THE CHURCH AT 10:30 SATURDAY MORNING.    HE FARMED NEAR EARLVILLE FOR 40 YEARS AND ALSO OWNED STEFFEN'S LIVESTOCK IN DELHI.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE HIS 4 CHILDREN, INCLUDING FLORIAN STEFFEN IN
MAQUOKETA.   KRAMER FUNERAL HOME IN DYERSVILLE IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.
