IT WAS A RAINY DAY SATURDAY. STOCK CAR RACES CANCELLED. YESTERDAY, BEAUTIFUL DAY.
TODAY, JUST ABOUT AS NICE.
OPEN HOUSE THIS AFTERNOON AT THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL, TO SHOW OFF TO THE PUBLIC, THE NEW ART AND SCIENCE CLASSROOM FACILITY. ALSO, WOMEN'S RESTROOMS HAVE BEEN RENOVATED NEAR THE GYM .....AND WHAT IS CALLED THE ROUND ROOM HAS BEEN REMODELED. THERE WILL BE A SHORT RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY. AND THE NEW TENNIS COURTS AND TRACK WILL ALSO BE FEATURED. HOT DOGS AND POP WILL BE SERVED. THE MIDDLE SCHOOL ALSO ADDED A NEW ENTRANCE AND OFFICES, BUT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE OPEN HOUSE. WONDER WHY? I HAVE SEEN THE HIGH SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS, BUT NOT MIDDLE SCHOOL. GUESS I'LL GO AND HAVE A HOT DOG AND POP AT THE HIGH SCHOOL AND THEN GO AND LOOK IN THE WINDOWS AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL.
SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TONIGHT. AT THE MEETING, NICK PITCHER, BRIGG'S ELEMENTARY EDUCATION TEACHER IS RESIGNING AND TROY OSTERHAUS WILL BE NAMED ASSISTANT BOY'S
BASKETBALL COACH, BUT WILL BE RESIGNING HIS FRESHMAN BASKETBALL COACHING POSITION.
BOARD MEMBERS WILL ALSO TALK ABOUT A PROPOSED SHARING PROJECT WITH THE CITY OF MAQUOKETA FOR A SIDEWALK ALONG SOUTH 5TH STREET. PRIOR TO THE REGULAR MEETING, THERE WILL BE A JOINT MEETING BETWEEN THE MAQUOKETA AND DELWOOD BOARDS, STARTING AT 6:30 P.M.T
THE TWO BOARDS WILL TALK ABOUT ANTICIPATED CHANGES AT THE HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL.

THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS ARE PLAYING GOLF TODAY AND IF THEY WIN, THEY GO ON TO THE STATE
