WE GOT SOME RAIN THIS MORNING, VERY LITTLE.
REST OF DAY WAS CLOUDY AND THEREFORE THE HIGH WAS ONLY 73.
TOMORROW, SUNNY AND HIGH OF 83.
SATURDAY, SUNNY AND HIGH OF 85.
SUNDAY, SUNNY AND HIGH OF 91.

AFTER 6 AND 1/2 YEARS AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF JACKSON COUNTY, ANGIE PETIT HAS RESIGNED
AND WILL WORK FOR BOYD GAMING, THE LICENSE HOLDER OF THE DIAMOND JO CASINO IN DUBUQUE AND OTHER GAMING OPERATIONS.
EARLIER THIS YEAR, THE FOUNDATION BECAME AN AFFILIATE OF THE GREATER DUBUQUE FOUNDATION.    SINCE THERE IS NOW LESS WORK,
THE LOCAL BOARD WILL ADVERTISE FOR A PART TIME PERSON.

A FINAL PARENT MEETING WILL BE HELD TONIGHT AT THE HIGH SCHOOL GYM ON SCHOOL SAFETY IN MAQUOKETA.   7 P.M.      TEACHERS AND STAFF
HAVE RECEIVED TRAINING  IN A.L.I.C.E.....WHICH STANDS FOR ALERLT,
LOCKDOWN, INFORM, COUNTER AND ESCAPE.   THE MAQUOKETA DISTRICT
HAS SPENT ABOUT $18,000 TO MAKE SECURITY IMPROVEMENTS,
INCLUDING VIDEO RECORDING.

THE MAQUOKETA CARDINAL FOOTBALL TEAM, LIKE MANY TEAMS IN THE STATE, WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A NEW RULE, AND PLAY A SCRIMMAGE
PRIOR THE REGULAR SEASON.    MAQUOKETA'S SCRIMMAGE WILL BE THIS
SATURDAY AT 3:30 P.M. AT GOODENOW FIELD.   THE PUBLIC IS WELCOME AND ADMISSION WILL BE TWO  BOTTLES OF POWERADE OR GATORADE.
THE CONCESSION STAND WILL BE OPEN SELLING FOOD AND MAQUOKETA
CARDINAL APPAREL AND RELATED ITEMS.
