LAST NIGHT, I ATTENDED THE OPEN HOUSE AT THE MAQUOKETA CARE CENTER, TO SEE THEIR NEW EXPANDED FACILITIES. THE MAQUOKETA CARE CENTER IS OWNED BY JUCKETTE MANAGEMENT COMPANY, A 2ND GENERATION FAMILY RUN ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES MANAGEMENT OVERSIGHT AND SUPPORT TO THE FACILITIES THAT THEY OPERATE.
LINDA JUCKETTE IS THE CEO AND HAS BEEN FOR AROUND 2 YEARS. HER FATHER-IN-LAW HAROLD AND LATE HUSBAND TOM JUCKETTE FIRST CAME TO MAQUOKETA IN 1973 TO PURCHASE THE LAND AND BREAK GROUND FOR THE ORIGINAL BUILDING.
THE JUCKETTE FAMILY HAS OWNED AND OPERATED NURSING CENTERS THROUGHOUT THE MIDWEST FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND PRIDES THEMSELVES IN INVESTING IN THE STAFF THEY EMPLOY, THE RESIDENTS AND FAMILIES THEY SERVE AND THE COMMUNITIES TO WHICH THEY BELONG.
LINDA JUCKETTE IS SHOWN ABOVE CUTTING THE RIBBON AT THE NEW ENTRYWAY. THERE ARE NOW TWO "FRONT" DOORS, THE OLD AND THIS ONE AND BOTH WILL BE USED DAILY.
SHOWN ABOVE, JIM RUGGEBERG, OTR, DISTRICT MANAGER OF MILLENNIUM THERAPY. MILLENNIUM WILL PROVIDE THE THERAPY PART IN THE NEW BUILDING ADDITION, AND MANAGING THIS PART AT MAQUOKETA CARE IS ASHLEY REED, OTR/L. SHE IS AT RIGHT ABOVE, AND SHE WILL BE THE THERAPY FACILITY MANAGER LOCALLY FOR MILLENNIUM. IN THE CENTER OF THE ABOVE PHOTO IS SHARON EHLINGER. SHARON IS THE ADMINISTRATOR FOR MAQUOKETA CARE CENTER. SHE HAS BEEN AT MAQUOKETA CARE FOR OVER 17 YEARS.THE NEW SKILLED THERAPY ADDITION STARTED AS A VISION THAT LINDA JUCKETTE AND JILL CAMERON, BOTH FAMILY MEMBERS OF THE ORIGINAL OWNERS, HELPED CREATE AND MAKE A REALITY FOR ALL AT THE MAQUOKETA CARE CENTER. AND THE WORK IS NOT COMPLETE.
THERE ARE PLANS TO CONTINUE TO RENOVATE AND REMODEL TO IMPROVE THE LEVEL OF SERVICE AND QUALITY OF CARE FOR THE MAQUOKETA AREA.
THE MAQUOKETA CARE CENTER IS UP ON THE HILL ON THE WAY TO PIZZA HUT. THE RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY AND OPEN HOUSE WAS YESTERDAY FROM 6 UNTIL 8 P.M. TOURS WERE GIVEN AND DELICOUS REFRESHMENTS WERE SERVED. THE CENTER EMPLOYS AROUND 85.
THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR WAS SHEETS CONSTRUCTION OF
MAQUOKETA.
IT IS A GREAT ADDITION TO MAQUOKETA CARE AND TO THE
COMMUNITY. IF YOU MISSED THE OPEN HOUSE, YOU ARE INVITED TO
STOP IN ANYTIME FOR A SHORT TOUR.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE OWNERS, MANAGEMENT AND STAFF OF MAQUOKETA CARE ON THEIR NEW ADDITION!!
