A BAD TURN-OUT YESTERDAY MORNING AT THE FAIRGROUNDS FOR THE DOG
EVENT  CALLED "BARN HUNTING".    BUT PAM WAGENER DID A NICE JOB  PUTTING
ON THE DEMONSTRATION OF THIS NEW  POPULAR SPORT FOR DOG OWNERS.
PAM IS A GRAD OF MCHS AND CAME BACK TO MAQUOKETA 3 YEARS AGO AND
LIVES ON E-17 AND IS ANXIOUS TO START A GROUP HERE IN MAQUOKETA.
ON OCTOBER 6TH, YOU CAN TAKE  YOUR DOG TO THE NEXT PRACTICE SESSION
AT 4-H GROUNDS IN DEWITT, AT 4 P.M.    THEN ON OCTOBER 21 AND 22 THERE
WILL BE TWO DAYS OF COMPETING, ALSO IN DEWITT, WITH  300 OR MORE DOGS
EXPECTED EACH  DAY.    STARTS AT 8 A.M. BOTH DAYS.   THERE IS A FEE TO ENTER YOUR DOG, BUT WATCHING IS FREE.   TAKE THE KIDS OR GRANDKIDS WITH YOU.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT "BARN HUNTING" WITH YOUR DOG....ANY
BREED OR SIZE....CALL PAM AT 319-530-6324.    YOUR DOG NEEDS TO GET INVOLVED
IN SOMETHING.

THIS PHOTO TAKEN AT THE CAVES YESTERDAY.  IT WAS THE DAY FOR THE
ANNUAL FRIENDS OF THE CAVES PANCAKE BREAKFAST WITH HOMEMADE MAPLE
SYRUP MADE AT THE CAVES.   BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR IT...AND BIG TURNOUT FOR
THE BREAKFAST AND DISPLAYS.
SANDY GERLACH IS A VERY ACTIVE "FRIENDS" MEMBER AND WAS HAPPY ABOUT
THE TURNOUT.       THANKS SANDY.
THERE WERE THINGS FOR THE KIDS TO SEE....
HE IS HOLDING A BABY TURTLE, BORN ABOUT A WEEK AGO.    THERE WERE
SNAKES TOO.    WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE THE CAVES STATE PARK.    AND
IT IS NOW BETTER THAN EVER WITH THE IMPROVEMENTS MADE THIS SUMMER.

SAW MARY RONEK THE OTHER DAY AND SHE  SAID COME ON OUT TO OUR FARM
WITH YOUR GRANDKIDS AND SEE OUR 21 MINIATURE PONIES.     DID THAT
YESTERDAY AFTER LEAVING THE CAVES.      CORA, TRENTON AND LANDON ENJOYED THE VISIT.
