NICE DAY..72 THE HIGH.

TRAGIC CAR-DEER ACCIDENT AROUND 7 LAST NIGHT JUST EAST OF PRESTON ON HIGHWAY 64 TOOK THE LIFE OF A WELL KNOWN JACKSON COUNTY MAN. DEAD INSTANTLY AT THE SCENE, GENE GRAVERT, AGE 61, OF RURAL SABULA.
HE HIT THE DEER WITH HIS 96 FORD CONTOUR AND THE DEER CAME UP THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD, TEARING OFF PART OF THE ROOF AND THEN WENT AIRBORN AND HIT A WESTBOUND VEHICLE DRIVEN BY MADONNA BORMANN OF PRESTON.
SHE AND HUSBAND BUTCH WERE NOT INJURED. GRAVERT, TRAVELING ALONE,WAS DEAD AT THE SCENE. HE OWNED AN APPLE ORCHARD NEAR SABULA AND HIS WIFE IS THE HEAD OF THE JACKSON COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION AND HAS HER OFFICE IN THE WELCOME CENTER AT SABULA. SERVICES ARE PENDING.
