THURSDAY DAILY REPORT

THE DAY STARTED WITH HEAVY FOG AND A LITTLE SUNSHINE AND THEN
FOR THE REST OF THE DAY, MOSTLY CLOUDY AND ON AND OFF LIGHT
RAIN.   TOMORROW AND THE WEEKEND WILL BE SUNNY AND WARM.

AT THE WEEKLY UPDATE MEETING TODAY REGARDING THE DOWNTOWN
CONSTRUCTION, WE WERE TOLD THAT IN ABOUT TWO WEEKS,  PAVING
WILL BEGIN ON QUARRY STREET.    THAT WILL BE THE FIRST NEW STREET
PAVING.     AND STARTING MAY 2ND, THEY WILL BE CLOSING A PORTION
OF PLATT STREET AND ALSO ON MAY 2ND THE FIRST 150-200 FEET OF
SOUTH MAIN STREET WILL BE CLOSED.

THE LEAD PASTOR AT THE FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH IN MAQUOKETA HAS SUBMITTED HIS RESIGNATION.    PASTOR ERIK SWANSON INFORMED HIS   CHURCH COUNCIL MONDAY NIGHT THAT HE HAS ACCEPTED A CALL
TO A LUTHERAN CHURCH IN HUXLEY, IOWA WHERE HE AND HIS WIFE
KRISTI HAVE A SON, DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AND TWO GRANDSONS THAT LIVE THERE AND ARE MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH.     SWANSON HAS BEEN IN MAQUOKETA NEARLY FOUR YEARS AND HIS WIFE HAS BEEN A TELLER AT THE MAQUOKETA STATE BANK WEST SIDE OFFICE.    HIS FINAL SUNDAY AT FIRST LUTHERAN WILL BE ON MAY 22ND.      PASTOR JUDY HEINRICK
(A MAQUOKET NATIVE) IS THE ASSOCIATE PASTOR AT FIRST LUTHERAN.
