SCHOOL SATURDAY AND 7 ARE GOING TO THE STATE WRESTLING TOURNAMENT

135...TIM O'CONNELL, SENIOR, CHAMPION, 37 AND 2
140...DAKOTA SYNDER, JUNIOR (TWIN OF SHILO), CHAMPION, 30 AND 3
152...RYAN FLAGEL, SENIOR, CHAMPION, 33 AND 4
160...THOMAS MAYBERRY, SENIOR, CHAMPION, 34 AND 4
285...COLTON FELLER, SENIOR, RUNNER-UP, 29 AND 12.
ALSO, TWO WRESTLERS FROM NORTHEAST(GOOSELAKE) ARE GOING TO
STATE. AT 171 POUNDS, SENIOR MITCH BIELENBERG, 29 AND 7 AND AT 189 POUNDS, SENIOR SPENCER LEUDERS, 34 AND 4.
THIS YEAR, NEITHER DEWITT OR MIDLAND-WYOMING WILL HAVE A WRESTLER AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT.
DR.PAUL KOOB OF MAQUOKETA WILL ONCE AGAIN BROADCAST THE MATCHES OF THE 9 WRESTLERS (MAQUOKETA AND NORHEAST) ON KMAQ-FM STARTING THIS FRIDAY.
AND..BECAUSE MAQUOKETA TOOK SECOND IN THE DISTRICT SATURDAY AS
A TEAM, NEXT WEEK.... WEEK AFTER THIS... THE TEAM WILL BE IN COMPETITION

THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL MEETS TONIGHT. ONE OF THE ITEMS ON THE AGENDA IS DISCUSSION WITH A BUSINESSMAN WHO WILL TALK ABOUT USING
A WOOD BURNING STOVE FOR HIS NEW PIZZA BUSINESS DOWNTOWN.
SEVERAL DEER ACCIDENTS AGAIN THIS PAST WEEKEND.
RICK CLASEN, 56, OF LAMOTTE DIED YESTERDAY AT DUBUQUE HOSPITAL. HE GRADUATED FROM MCHS IN 1973 AND WAS A GOOD BASKETBALL PLAYER FOR COACH BILL FLEMMING. HE HAS OWNED (AND RESTORED HIMSELF) THE POPULAR CIRCLE C SALOON IN LAMOTTE SINCE 1982 AND HE ALSO OWNED THE NARROW GUAGE DEPOT IN LAMOTTE, WHICH HE RESTORED IN 1993. SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE DIXIE.

YESTERDAY, NANCY AND I VISITED THE
IOWA 80 TRUCKING MUSEUM WEST OF
DAVENPORT ON I-80. IT IS 2 YEARS OLD
AND POPULAR AND GROWING. FREE
ADMISSION. DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE TO
STAY LONG BUT TOOK A FEW PHOTOS.
