MONDAY DAILY REPORT

PT. SUNNY TODAY AND HIGH OF 71.
A LITTLE WARMER TOMORROW.
ONE OR TWO INCHES OF RAIN IN FORECAST FOR TOMORROW NIGHT.
FOOTBALL FRIDAY, THE HIGH IS EXPECTED TO BE 60.
WARMER AND NICE FOR THE WEEKEND AHEAD.

BIG STORY YESTERDAY AND TODAY WAS THAT A WOMAN DIED
IN HER SLEEP SATURDAY NIGHT OR SUNDAY MORNING IN HER TENT
AT THE MAQUOKETA CAVES STATE PARK.   SHE WAS NOT FROM THIS AREA.
THE MAN WHO CALLED 9-1-1 WHEN HE AWOKE TO FIND HER UNRESPONSIVE
HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED.   AN AUTOPSY IS BEING DONE.
NO FOUL PLAY IS SUSPECTED.

SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TONIGHT.
SPEAKING OF SCHOOL....
NICE NEW SIGN AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL, VISABLE FROM MAIN STREET.
SINCE 2003, KIDS HAVE HAD TO CHANGE  MESSAGE BY HAND OUT AT THE SIGN.    NOT AN EASY JOB AT WINTERTIME.    NO MORE!   THIS ONE CAN
BE DONE WITH A COMPUTER AT THE OFFICE.

PIONEER DAY, OCTOBER 5

MARK THIS DATE ON YOUR CALENDAR.     IT HAS  BEEN "TRAINS" YEAR FOR THE JACKSON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND THE ABOVE 61 DRIVE-IN THEATRE TRAIN WILL BE AT THE FAIRGROUNDS TO GIVE RIDES ON OCTOBER 5TH.
