MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS ARE MAKING PLANS TO ADD 6 CLASSROOMS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL AND SOME NEW RESTROOMS.
THEY HOPE TO TAKE BIDS ON THE ESTIMATED $1.2 MILLION PROJECT IN JANUARY OR FEBRUARY AND BREAK GROUND IN THE SPRING.
PHASE TWO, A NEW GYM, TO BE COMPLETED WITHIN THE NEXT 5 YEARS. PLANS NOW CALL FOR THE GYM TO BE BUILDT IN FRONT OF THE HIGH SCHOOL, ALONG WITH A NEW ENTRANCE TO THE SCHOOL.

RANDY AND LINDA LAHEY, OWNERS OF THE HAYLOCK, O'HARA & LAHEY FUNERAL HOME IN MAQUOKETA SINCE 1988, ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT THEY HAVE PURCHASED THE HAYDEN FUNERAL HOMES IN WYOMING, OLIN, OXFORD JUNCTION AND LOST NATION.

THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS ARE TIED FOR FIRST PLACE TODAY IN THEIR DIVISION. KMAQ AIRS THIER GAME AGAINST THE REDS AT 6:10 TONIGHT.

THE IOWA HAWKS OPEN THE FOOTBALL SEASON IN IOWA CITY TOMORROW MORNING AGAINST MIAMI OF OHIO. THE BROADCAST STARTS AT 9 TOMORROW MORNING ON KMAQ-FM. THE IOWA STATE CYCLONES OPEN THE SEASON TOMORROW NIGHT IN AMES, HOSTING UNI AND THE BROADCAST STARTS AT 4:15 TOMORROW AFTERNOON ON KMAQ-AM.

FORMER MAQUOKETA CARDINAL AND CYCLONE QUARTERBACK SAGE ROSENFELS OF MAQUOKETA, DID WELL IN THE MIAMI EXHIBITION GAME LAST NIGHT.
HE IS CURRENTLY THE #2 QB FOR THE DOLPHINS.
